Here's a rumor that's easy to believe: Gamefly has a listing for an upcoming game called Carnival Games from budget publisher Global Star Software (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Scaler). Carnival Games sounds like a collection of uncomplicated midway-style attractions like ring toss and a shooting gallery; in other words, more minigames. It's a pretty safe assumption, we think, that something called Carnival Games won't turn out to be an RPG or a fighting game, right?
We don't necessarily blame Global Star for (allegedly) taking the easy way out, because they do budget games, but we feel like we should deliver the following message to publishers: stop making minigames. At least put a year-long moratorium on them. Let's try to diversify the Wii library a little.

Wait a second, it all makes sense... rumors of some "Carnival Games" rumors that Blizzard will announce a new game... I think this is gonna be a Starcraft based MMO, Carnival being the name of the new Dark Templar leader

Carnival was one of the games i played on my coleco almost ad infintium... well Carnival, Gorf, Venture, and Penguin Race... I used to play a lot of Turbo too, but the need to have 6 D batteries with enough juice to run the wheel mad that one a difficult proposition at best.
now that i think about it, i only had one other game for the coleco... so to rephrase my comment:
"i once owned coleco and had the game in the advertisment shown on the screen"
wow, that was a much less interesting statement than i thought it was going to be... why did i get so excited again?

I liked Carnival on the Colecovision quite a bit. I remember the wheel for Turbo, and I know we had the game, but I don't remember it. I remember Epyx's Pit Stop, but not Turbo.

I had pit stop and pit stop II on my commodore, but not on coleco... i also have this weird scent memory of playing turbo because we kept the wheel and giant/unstable single spring loaded pedal in it's original styrofoam case so it always smelled extra plasticy... whenever that smell hits my nose i have flashbacks to playing turbo and the whole unboxing ritual it required. it could also be because i am crazy.
(as for pit stop, i cannot tell you just how pissed i would get when i didn't get the refueller disengaged in time and had to refuel all over again... grrrrrr)

I have this game for my Atari. At least I think it's the same game. It's Carnival Games by Sega.
