Though not as psychedelically colorful as PEGA's Wii stand and remote charger, Brando's Crystal Cooler isn't without its own glitz. The USB-powered base has a built-in "high-velocity" fan to keep your console's temperature low and an LED glow that'll color your living room walls an electric blue. If you squint and straddle one of your couch's arms like a bike, it'll almost feel like you're riding through Tron on a lightcycle. We're still not convinced that the Wii needs a cooling fan, but some gamers will look for any excuse to light up their hardware. Priced at nineteen dollars though, the product doesn't even automatically turn on after detecting high temperatures. Instead, users have to manually hit an unmarked switch behind the stand. That's some ol' malarkey right there. Speed through the post break for more glamour shots of the Crystal Cooler.

I'd get one and never even use the fan. If I had a Wii. It just *looks* cool. Still waiting on product availability and my wallet to sync up. :-)

My high velocity fan didn't work very well. I had to take it back to Gamestop. The light is bright enough to keep you up at night.
Maybe mine was defective. I hope so, cause this thing was unable to make much of a difference in my wii-connect temperature. Instead of 109 degrees F, my will was 105 Degrees F.

Have they ever designed one with it not standing vertically but laying down sideways so that the fan has more access? also make like a storage case underneath it and have like the gamecube controllers connecting to the front? also have like an external hard drive and/or DVD drive that connects like the HD-DVD of the xbox 360 to stack it with? Kinda like how the mac mini has that external hard drive that fits underneath it with the same shape...
