LBP taunts us with Mario Sack Boy concept art
We're more than just a tad bit envious over LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule's ultra-cute, ultra-customizable platformer for the PS3; ever since the title was announced at GDC, we've been downright jealous. Videos of the game's cooperative possibilities have turned us into internet stalkers, following every online preview and press release in secret, constantly reloading LBP's MySpace page every five minutes to make sure that other guys aren't moving into our territory with flirtatious comments.
So seeing that players will not only be able to create landscapes that mimic scenes from classic games (e.g. Super Mario Bros., World 1-2), but likely also dress up their characters to look like Nintendo's mustachioed mascot has inflamed within us the sort of covetous lust that Moses warned against after coming down from the mount. The Virtual Console has been a great way for us to play old classics, but seeing Sony's plans for its PlayStation Network and comparing it to what we've heard so far about original, downloadable games coming to the Wii has us feeling like chumps.

Im really excited about LBP. I will buy a ps3 later this year just for LBP and GTAIV. I believe LBP will be HUGE. The Mii's are cute but.. pretty lame customize options compared to LBP.. and if you will be able to share maps and whatever in LBP without friendcodes...
im sorry but.. LPB ftw!

Wow, I thought I was one of the few Nintendo fans willing to admit that I really like the look of LBP. I'm still not buying a PS3 at an AU$1000 price tag though.

I've been saying this for ever now: the days of the exclusive console owner are dead. The consoles are distinguishing themselves from the other so much these days that it's okay to purchase more than one to really experience gaming. I'll always buy the Nintendo console first because I'll never leave Zelda or Samus or Mario, but it seems stubborn and kind of immature to hold a grudge against a company just to distinguish yourself as a hardxcore fanboy. I hate Microsoft computers, but I wouldn't mind picking up a 360 someday. You're missing out if you don't...
While the price of the PS3 is still ridiculous, I'll probably pick one up for GTA VI (once their library gets bigger), and LBP is also becoming a reason I'd pick one up.

Chris,
I'm going to have to disagree. With the exception of LBP and games from Team Ico, there isn't anything worth getting for the PS3 that you couldn't get for the 360. And for $200 less, 360 is the way to go.
The Wii is different entirely and should be added to every gamer's collection.
