Our sleeveless-ninja-suit-wearing friend from Tecmo is already planning his return, according to new listings found on the ESRB's site. Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos was released in 1990 in the U.S., just one year after Tecmo presented the first game. It features the same kind of side-scrolling action as the original, with the addition of shadow-ninja clones like the ones found in Ninja Spirit. The box warns that the game is "hard to beat!!" and we can in fact confirm this. Also newly rated is Sega's Shining in the Darkness, the first game in the Shining series. Don't be discouraged by the fact that the series has been thoroughly ruined by countless mediocre spinoffs and sequels-- while Shining in the Darkness isn't as well-regarded as the Shining Force games, it can still be fun for people who are into hardcore dungeon crawling.

Ninja Gaiden for the NES was awesome! Ninja Gaiden, Double Dragon and Contra were my favorite games.

Ninja Gaiden 2
CastleVania 3
Super Mario 2,3
Are some of the few NES games that have enough non-nostalgic value to warrant a download.

"harcore dungeon crawling"
i'd like to reiterate that...
I owned shinning when it came out... i enjoyed it... however, get used to having to crawl all the way through previously traversed (as in got lost in) sections of the dungeon to get back to the last point you left...
unless i am having poor recollection, you would get deeper and deeper into the dungeon, then have to warp out to go back to town, but there was no warp back function, so you had to plow through the same dungeon bits over, and over, and over...
not to knock the game, again, i rembemer enjoying many dark and costco soda fuelef nights with this one, but it definatly requires dedication.
