Don't get us wrong, we
used to like Dragonball Z. When we were, like, twelve. But with the announcement of
yet another DBZ game coming to the Wii, we can't help but think of all the other deserving anime franchises that could use the gaming treatment. The import
Naruto titles on the 'Cube were spectacular, and we hear that the
Bleach and
Full Metal Alchemist titles aren't half bad.
You guys probably watch more anime than us, so which series, no matter how obscure, would you have make its way to the Wii? How about
Read or Die, which could make very interesting use of the Wiimote for the various paper-based powers, or maybe
Hikaru no Go, as a cool boardgame/RPG tandem title?
Come forth, otaku, we summon thee!

I couldn't agree more about Dragon Ball Z, but then again, as long as they are making enough sales to justify the release of another game good for them.

I like DBZ games, unlike most games series which release hundreds of games, each game improves upon it's predecessor.
Example: In tenkaichi 1 all the melee attacks did little to no damage compared to the energy attacks. Tenkaichi 2 sorted this.
But I would like some different type of games, I'm fed up of anime brawlers altogether (Especially Naruto >_

Holy sheet, it cut off my post.
I want an Azumanga Daioh game (God knows how that would work though) and a Card Captor Sakura game. Card Captor Sakura could easily be made into a brilliant game given the right developers.

The Anime sucks, but I think that Pokemon could make a decent game...
Ghost in the Shell, a combination of deceive work and fighting with high-tech gins and stealth suits, and the ability to dive into the internet and people's heads. All to the backdrop of cultural dissolution, technological revolution and a hive mind society.

I wouldn't mind another Zoids game, either in the vein of the Versus series or a sequel to Full Metal Clash. More anime inspired 2D fighters like Melty Blood are always welcomed. A Gundam game centered around the Astray side series would please me if only use Red Frame's giant katana...
And who's not to say when the PS2 is truly succeeded by the PS3 that the Wii won't receive the Visual Novel ports from the PC. It was the PS2 and Dreamcast last generation.

Enough with the DBZ games already.
Where's a good Berserk game for us non-japan residents??
A Bleach game that's more than just a fighter is also a must. Finally, and most importantly in my book, Where is the GTA-styled Cowboy Bebop game?!?!? Let me play as Spike using weapons or fists, walking, running or flying his mono-racer; hopping planets and systems to catch bounties... I don't understand why this game hasn't been made yet... Come ON Shinichiro Watanabe-San!!!

I'd have to go with a Gundam Wing game. There was only one of them for crying out loud!
Say all you want about the other Gundam series being superior, but Gundam Wing was a brilliant standalone, and with mechs and destruction and a stunning plot, this could be a wonderfully delightful game, especially with updated graphics technology.

Yeah, a wiimote/energy sword in an Evangelion game could be pretty tight and, although its not a series (that I know of) Akira could potentially make an awesome (mature) game, playing as multiple characters in a story mode. I think that would sell pretty well and potentially bring more "hard core" gamers to the wii if Nintendo were so inclined.

How about a "Visions of Escaflowne" game. It would have a good combination of sword fighting, mechas, and magic using.
Yeah, the Cowboy Bebop would be a winner. And I would like to see a good EVA game. And if I'm not mistaken there was a GITS game for PS2.

Read or Die is a freaking awesome show with unique super powers. It would translate very well into a video game and also get alot more grlgamerz than average. (My wife loved the series)
Speaking of fun anime fighters with weird super powers.. How about The Getbackers?

I have heard nothing but bad things about the Wii version of Bleach. The DS games are great, but I've heard awful things about the Wii version.
Naruto is a horrible show.

Prince of Tennis spells win for Wii. You have a large character base to choose from, all with special moves already devised. On top of that, you can tap the series for a storyline/tournament mode (Regionals -> Prefectural -> Nationals).

I second (or fifth) Evangelion and Getbackers, as well as Cowboy Bebop... Throw a little Samurai CHamploo in there and we'll have a party :)

I would do just about anything for a localized Read Or Die game on the Wii, including murder.
Sadly it most likely will never happen.
We need the Evangelion game from the N64 on virtual console!!
Whatever happened to that new Sailor Moon game that was rumored a while back for the Wii ?

I wanna see Berserk man, I remember playing it on the Dreamcast, and even now its still one of my favorites. and boy I hope if they ever did, they would use the voice actors from the Dreamcast game and not those awful voices for the dubbed anime, uggg. other then that, hmmm, there already doing an eyeshield game. hmmm, PopoloCrois is nice, Mushishi might make a nice game, Guyver is pretty cool. i can probably think of more but it seems the more popular ones have already been mentioned. lets not forget Dragon ball Z.

"Hands Off!" would make for some excellent orginal gameplay (Though it's manga-only, no anime). I'd also be interested in Kodocha (probably an adventure-style game) or Ghost in the Shell (maybe either Splinter Cell-ish or Shogo-ish, then again, maybe they did make a Ghost in the Shell game...?).
And I'd love to see the Japanese GBA side-scrolling puzzler based on Futari wa Pretty Cure get brought over here. That was a great game, kinda like a colorful 2D Munch's Odysee. Although it could really use to be turned into a full action-adventure style.

I completely concur with there needing to be a Read or Die game. While there already technically is one (Ele Paper Action), telekinetic control of paper is such a sweet (and different) concept for a game.
Another game I could almost see is Naoki Urasawa's thriller series Monster. It's all about investigation, so a Shenmue-style FREE would be the only way to go.

I want Golden Boy. The story of this guy who wants to learn and study but always meets these hot babes who hate him, but he always ends up doing something sweet or considerate and leaving the town to search for more 'learning', but by then the women find out about it and fall in love with him and search for him.
Kind of like a Japanese Leisure Suit Larry I guess.

What about a Wii version for Jump Super/Ultimate Stars? It could feature unique game style for every playable character.
I would like to see a Gantz game, featuring action and FPS style.
Also, a Hunter X Hunter game. Sadly it didn't become very famous, but a game with every characters's abilities would make a very wide game.

A Trigun light gun game. The challenge would be to NOT kill your opponent but simply disable them. If you do shoot them in a vital spot you have to try and heal them.
Or a One Piece RPG. The series seems just so perfect as an RPG because all one would need to do is follow the anime's story. You meet characters who join your party (or crew), random battles and boss battles would be events from the anime, filler could be sidequests, and of course since the straw hat pirates grow stronger throughout the series a leveling system would just come naturally.

Prince of Tennis. Bought both the Gloarius Gold and Stylish Silver versions for GBA on my trip to japan a few years ago... Fantastic Anime (DON'T watch it on cartoon network, the american voices DESTROY the show, even worse than they destroy naruto) and the GBA games were actualy really fun. On top of that we all know tennis as a concept works well on the Wii (yay wii sports) and a more full featured game would be great... not to mention special abilities would keep it light hearted and kid friendly. They're also a great excuse for making the whole thing less realistic so you wouldn't need some heavy control scheme. Keep it light, keep it fun, keep it animated and the wii is actually the best system on a technical level for that...
