I'll rent it. I have a hard time paying another $30 for a new control scheme and some extra content, thereby saying "Yes, Nintendo/Capcom/etc, please port more games I've already played."
It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but I'd be more pleased with an Resident Evil exclusive that played like RE4 but wasn't RE4.

I can't wait, I only had the chance to finish Disc 1 back in the GameCube days, so I'm looking forward to a chance to finish the game now. Plus, since it's only $30, how could I refuse? Only problem is, it doesn't look like Target will be carrying it, which is total lameness. (I buy all my stuff at Target since I work there and get a discount and such)

Reserved it, and am excited for it. It should be pretty cool to use the new control scheme on a RE game.

I would love to pick it up since I never made it all the way through the GC version. Of course, considering my wife bought me the original, I'm not sure if she'll be keen on me/us paying even another $30 for this one.

Definitely grabbing it, but probably waiting until next week... Hopefully I don't have to deal with "reserve" shenanigans...

I've been counting the days. I only ever played a little of the PS2 version and the Wii has been gathering dust lately. This would be a great time for Nintendo to release a new channel or something.

I'd bite if it was $20. I hope Capcom doesn't decide on new a RE for the Wii based on sales of RE4. I might be wrong though, alot of people might not mind spending $30 on a last gen. port with a new control scheme.

9/12 REALLY want this (that means me too). I just can't wait for the controller scheme. I've beat RE4 but that hasn't been since within a year after it came out. Great game. If you haven't beat it or you loved it for GCN this is a must buy for Wii owners. What is really weird tho, one of my friends personally said "I know this game will be AMAZING! But I'm still not getting it". He had never even really played it for GCN.

I'm really excited to get a hold of this one. But also looking forward to Harry Potter next week.
I guess I shouldn't complain about having too may games but... Is there any way I can get through RE4 in a week?

Depends on how much time you have to play. I seem to remember putting about 30 hours into it my first time through.

honestly, i don't see why everyone is in such an excited mood for this game. it's a re-release with tacked on controls (yay, lets waggle the remote to reload....genius arcade gun-controls there). but honestly, ya there's some new content, but nothing too new really if you owned either or the gc/ps2 version. i MIGHT be a bit more excited had they added something amazing like multiplayer or co-op play and improved the graphics by even a fraction. with the extra horsepower, why not? yet all we're getting is the same game with (gasp!) new controls! why waste the money or even give them the money saying "ya, ports are fine with us". really people, if you own the gamecube version, you're fine, if you own the ps2 version, YOU'RE STILL GOOD. If you want the controls badly, pick up the PC version and use the wiimote program to set your controls to it and there you have it.

Oh, ive been looking forward to this title :-) but I wont be pickin it up for awhile since I got some other stuff I want to beat first (I bought metroid prime 1 and 2 since I never played before and wanted to see what they were like before metroid prime 3). so Ill buy this in a few weeks or a month prolly.

To those saying this is another "tacked-on waggle" port -- wrong, wrong, wrong. Zelda had tacked-on waggle. This is like the difference between playing Time Crisis with a dual shock versus a guncon -- night and day different experience. You're *aiming* a gun-like widget at the screen to shoot, not using an analog stick like some sort of Halo player.
I'm still not getting it this week -- I haven't worked out how to get in significant gaming hours on titles that are inappropriate for my 1-year-old to watch -- but I hope to someday soon.
