Even with a diminished E3, there's no controlling the wave of rumors that hit the Internet every year before the show. Why fight it? From now until E3 hits, we'll be posting one piece of wild speculation every day. Some may be patently ridiculous, and others just might turn out to be true. Even some of the ridiculous ones might turn out to be true! Rest assured, everything will be totally made-up and unfounded. Except, of course, when we speak about all the ass Reggie is going to kick. That part? Totally true.
Rumor: Your favorite games will not have online support -- especially if it would make sense to include it.

I'd say it WOULDN'T make sense for Retro Studios to put multiplayer in MP3, because they don't like it (the multiplayer in MP2 certainly felt like a rush job)
So conversely, because it WOULDN'T make sense, that means it WILL be included, due to the contradicting language in said rumor
But honestly, i wouldn't bet on it. Simply because Retro Studios doesn't like Multiplayer. I wouldn't bet on a multiplayer mode at all, let alone online
Smash Bros is another story. They've been hinting at an online system for a long time (including that one web page that appeared temporarily on Nintendo.com's old Wii page, although that page also listed Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, so it can go with a grain of salt), and hackers proved it was possible to pull off relatively lag-free network play with Melee in the GC. Sakurai said there would be "hurdles to cross" but it would be a sucker's bet to bet against it, i think.

MP3:C just wouldn't be suitable for multiplayer, in my opinion. I won't complain if Retro DOES give it online multi, but I definitely don't expect it. Whether a side-scroller or in first-person, Metroid has always been an adventure/exploration game.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, they've already made it clear that online battles are unlikely, though they've suggested keeping offline battles... either way, look at the multiplayer in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It really wasn't that great. Only reason Metroid Prime Hunters did so well is that it was built as an FPS from the ground up. The other Metroid Prime games are more first person adventure games. I'm pushing for no online too, as it'll be a waste of development time if it turns out as exciting as MP2:E. On the other hand, they have shown interest in WiiConnect24, which makes one cross their fingers for downloadable content or something along those lines...?
As for Brawl, it's pretty much a confirmed online game. So everyone can just calm their worries down.
Now for the rumor... here it comes... the only other online game to come out this year will be Donkey Kong Bongo Blast! Haha, that'd be cruel...
