But, some of you already have it and undoubtedly have some opinions to share, no? Care to inform us what you think? See what the critics think below:
- Nintendo Power (65/100) says the game is great for fans looking for some more mileage out of their copy of Pokemon Diamond or Pearl: "Pokemon Battle Revolution has its ups and downs, but it makes for a decent way to get more out of Diamond and Pearl." [Aug 2007, p.85]
- Wii Advanced (50/100) thinks it's a step backwards: "Compared to Pokemon Stadium on N64, it feels like a step backwards, as it feels less polished and lacks as many extras as its predecessor, which is now over five-years-old."
- IGN (50/100) tears the game a new one: "The single player mode is a joke, there's a huge lack of true customization or depth, and the multiplayer mode – while certainly appealing to core gamers – offers very little beyond what DS had."

I was all set to buy this game until I saw how horrible the reviews were and read about how useless the single-player game is.
I think the game would have gotten a lot better reviews if it had been a budget title, say for around $29.99, but as a full-priced game it sounds like a total ripoff.

How hard is it to make it like Pokemon Stadium? Throw in a Snap mode for your Pokemon, with ribbons and contest move poses. Mini-games like the first with different Pokemon that uses your own. A Doduo and Dodrio sped-up emulator. A way to win starters and choosable semi-rares like fossils. Surfing Pikachu. Move Tutor and Move Relearner (or whatever it is called). Every gym and Elite Four. Special challenges like found in the anime. That school with those challenges and a library/pokedex of all the Pokemon. Decent rentals.

I've been telling people, especially since the introduction of WiFi Battle Tower in D&P, the stadium concept became rather pointless
What i'd be interested to learn is how well the Online mode actually works, because it will be a precursor to how well Strikers Charged will work...

Actually, you CAN get Pokemon for your copy of Pearl/Diamond. You can get an Electivire, a Magmotar, and a Surfing Pikachu. Is there more...?
Also there is a store in the game selling items that all those hardcore Poke-players would appreciate.
Really, the main reason to own this game is to play online. That in itself is worth it, if you really like Pokemon.
Although I do miss the Mini-games...

I like the game a lot. I got it for WiFi battling with my friends and random people online and it's great for that. Definitely room for improvement, but it doesn't deserve such low scores.

It's worth it for online play. I think that's done well, there is a little lag, but that's probably due to the other trainer actually picking his/her moves. Other than that, if you don't have Wi-Fi, it probably isn't worth getting. The graphics of the moves the pokemon use are quite well done IMO. Online battling on the DS is a joke, it's not even realtime! Not quite sure why that is. If they could do Metroid Prime hunters in realtime, why not the pokemon battle? I wouldn't have rated this game as low as it was either.

I enjoy the game somewhat even without Diamond or Pearl, but for $50 bucks it seems like this gung-ho purchase was a mistake, at least at this time. The single player is lacking severely, so its all about the multiplayer. I've been meaning to pick up Diamond/Pearl, so I know I'll eventually get my use. But, maybe the reviews were a bit harsh. I think this game was meant to be multiplayer primarily.

I'm desperate to start filling up my Friends list in the game. Here's my FC: 3222-2613-8752
I think you can have up to four different FCs, seeing as there's 4 profile slots. So maybe that's how the Strikers thing will work, but with Miis instead.

what pokemon games need right now is newer, deeper, better gameplay. the last thing we need is more pokemon. this is the next gen and i think its time they innovate the fighting in the pokemon games instead of the old turn based gameplay they've been using since.....forever

"It's worth it for the online play" etc.
Didn't the DS version already have online play?
