The Wii seems to be about quick 5-10 minute casual gaming, and T2 feels a 1 hour strat-fest just wouldn't fit.

If by "1 hour strat-fest" you mean more like "14-hour strat-fest", then yes, I agree.
I'm not sure about "never all that graphically demanding", since Civ IV wouldn't run on any computer without a decent 3D card... EB says 64MB with hardware T&L support. I personally feel that even if they make incredibly detailed, gorgeous art assets for the PS3, 360, and PC, they should be able to scale them down for the Wii (and maybe DS?), but then again I'm not making the decision.
Well, no skin off my back -- I own my Wii because of Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and Smash Brothers. Anything else is icing on the cake.

The game is being streamlined for consoles. They're saying 1 hour gameplay, max.

Any civ game that takes under 8 hours isn't really a civ game anyways. So if that's really the case, I say good riddance. On the otherhand... if the game really isn't coming to the wii (of which I can find 0 confirmation except for the rumor based on the wii logo not being found on the trailer) then I am extremely dissapointed for 2 reasons: My only console is a wii; and the best console to play the game is obviously the wii. And I don't think I need to go into the reasons why the wii would be the obvious choice. The developers should be reminded that by the time this game is released, the wii is going to be the dominant console.
