We don't think this is a controversial statement, although feel free to skewer us in the comments if it is: Pokemon Battle Revolution is not worth having if you don't own and play Pokemon on the DS. If we really wanted to arouse some vitriol, we'd say it's not worth having even then, but that would really just be flame-baiting for its own sake. We don't even actually feel that way. What we want to know is, is it okay in your mind to have a game like this that absolutely depends on another game to be fun? It it okay for such a thing to be full price?
Obviously, if you're of the "gotta catch 'em all" persuasion who buys every Pokemon game regardless of quality, your answer is going to be a little different.

I dont think this game should be full price, but maybe it could be about 30 or 40 dollars. You guys should put up any wifi games as the giveaway when they come out. Do like 9 copies of this game :)

This game is a nice start for DS connectivity and Wii wi-fi. But, that's about it. My kids bought this game and will probably play it exclusively for a while. But, I figure they'll figure it out and realize that it is just plain boring. This should've been the giveaway promo if you bought both Diamond and Pearl, not a pair of stylus.

I bought this game and it was absolute crap. I thought the online stuff would be intriguing, at the very least. But it wasn't. There were no redeeming qualities of the title at all. In fact, the bad reviews I've read are too nice. I traded it back already and lost half my money. Not only is it not worth the buy, but Nintendo looses a few good will points with this one.

It's fun I really feel that this game should not be full price. It depends alot on the DS. If you don't have it the game is truely worthless.

This "game" is not very interesting. They should make a full fledged pokemon mmo or something on consoles.

Crap. One of the biggest wastes of money since I bought a PSP. It just feels so unbalanced and one-sided. The absolute only reason to get this game is if you want the Surfing Pikachu so badly you can't stand it. And even then, that isn't worth $50.

I have a hate/love relationship with games like this. They can be really fun when you use all the peripherals especially multiplayer, but the cost is just way overblown. I'm not into pokemon anyways so I'd never buy this game. I hope they come out with some games that adults will actually want to play. Yes, I had some fun with Wii sports and Rayman Raving Rabids... but the fun with those type of games only lasts so long. I spent $250 for the Wii and $250 for my PSP and I have to say, my Wii collects dust meanwhile I'm wearing the finish off my PSP.

Given what it is, this game ought to be priced like RE4Wii, at $29.99 or less.
A lot of people are going to be very disappointed in this game, and it's going to end up in the used bins across the country within a matter of months. It's sad that developers can get away with such flagrant trash, but I guess this isn't any worse than Spider Man 3.

The single player is a joke apparently and has no sotry or gameplay what so ever.....I might pick it up after a price drop of course.

I don't think it's ok for Nintendo to do this. There's no GAME there with Battle Revolution. And for what's there, it's to expensive. I like the Pokemon games, despite their obvious faults, but I've been waiting for Nintendo to make a 3D console game that, you know, accurately replicates the adventuring around like in the handhelds. In this, all you do is battle in an arena thingy. There's no towns, caves, oceans, forests, etc. There's no exploring and running around capturing Pokemon. I want Ninty to offer a new Pokemon experience. I'm even getting tired of this same old formula. Sometimes I think Nintendo rests on their laurels too much when it comes to developing games.

I honestly don't think it depends on another game to be fun. Does battling with your own Pokemon feel more rewarding? Sure. But, is the game completely useless w/out 'em? No. People can get by with rental passes until such time as they decide to buy the game if they do at all.
