The other update over at the Dojo sees the explanation of attacks, and how they're performed using each of the available control schemes. There, each attack, from standard to Smash, are now dictated by how strongly you press the analog stick. This should allow players to control their attacks and fight more effectively.
As usual, we've included images of the attack breakdown and Giga Bowser in the gallery below.

Anyone else think that Giga Bowser looks kinda like a wolf? I think it's his nose.
Definitely cool to see!

Dear NWF,
Care to explain how this is any different from SSBM?
Thank you.

I second all comments. Giga Bowser does look like a wolf and like OOT's Ganon.
And the Smash attacks are just the same as in SSBM.
GB looks amazing, though!

anonymousse,
We didn't comment as to the difference in controls between Brawl and Melee. We merely presented the update and said it should help fighters battle more effectively.
If we misrepresented ourselves in any way, I apologize.

Anyone ever fought giga bowser in ssbm? Its hard as heck, especially since hes big enough to reach across half the stage. I think i beat him once or twice though.

Really coincidental, just yesterday i beat the 51st Event Match with Kirby without doing the cheapo trick (where if you do his hover jump underneath the stage, your opponents are so aggresive that they follow you underneath and kill themselves)
He looks even more kick ass
Oh, and anonymousse, Sakurai has said that the game is going to have a different flavor, and that "those who are expecting the exact same thing are going to be dissappointed"
Between that, the graphical upgrade, and hopefully online, that should be enough upgrades

David, I think the confusion comes from the 'now' in the following:
"each attack, from standard to Smash, are now dictated by how strongly you press the analog stick."
Anyway, I sold off my Melee disk to buy RE4: Wii Edition, so I'm stuck waiting for Brawl to get my Smash fix. This game is really shaping up to be something even greater than Melee.

Giga Bowser does look intense but it will be interesting to see whether he can even land a hit on any of the faster characters. Also in regards to event 51, Jigglypuff's rest move is the way to go.

Man, i never thought of that
That would be one of the few times where that move would really be practical, too. He's too big to miss...

It's interesting to how a character's original design translates after an upgrade in graphics. Seeing new shots of Bowser, not just the one above, makes me want to see him in his own game. Next-Gen bowser looks awesome. Mario is looking more and more dates as time goes on though. I know he'll never go out of style but still, they need to update his face somehow.

Giga Bowser is easy to kill in SSBM!! Just use Jigglypuff's sleep move.. the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

The fact that the horribly AI'd Giga Bowser is easy to kill has nothing to do with it. Have you ever played as Giga Bowser through AR. He's friggin' BEAST. And he can't even be grabbed xD
Oh yea and now (when you do the final smash) he's invincible o.o;;
