With the news that Jenga is coming to the Wii, and with the Wii so perfect for certain other games (DS/Wii Pictionary, maybe?), we're curious what else you might possibly be interested in. One of the best parts about board games on XBLA, for example, is the lack of setup or cleanup (which is always nice), but how many games really translate well? Also, are such games better suited for download services or budget titles?Wii Warm Up: Tabletop style

I'm going to go meta and call for a video game adaptation of the Pac-Man board game.

I would be interested in a few virutal tabletop games for $5 - $8. They'd have to be WiiWare, though. Maybe they could wrap up a handful of them (3-5) into a budget title after six months or something. The Jenga game is a good idea as WiiWare, but as a budget release ($20 - $30) it's not really appealing.
Quick Q: is WiiFanboy going to follow/match the Joystiq upgrade? I'm not sure how closely these Weblogs are tied together.

I'm hoping that all the board game classics end up on the Wii - Monopoly, Clue, Risk, etc. Board games are great for getting families gathered around the tv and playing together.
My personal favorites: Catan, Chess, and Backgammon.
I think some of these games are simple enough to make sense as budget or download titles, unless they make a full version with Mii integration and online competition.
You could also bundle some games together in yet-another mini-game compilation, something like Clubhouse Games on the DS.

Before the Wii released last year and I heard news of Wii/DS connectivity the first thing I thought of was Scrabble.
I still would like to see that.

I'd love to see Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Life... but only with online support so we could actually play against people.

I honestly don't think any video game will be as fun as the actual board game. I mean just throwing the dice IRL is so much better than watching some dice spin around on tv. Are we really getting that lazy where we don't want to take 3 minutes of our life to set up and 3 more minutes to put away stuff?

I'd love to see a bunch of "european-style" board games (Rio Grande brand, etc.) show up on Wii, but only if they support local multiplayer. I know there are strategic reasons why it could be troublesome, but the lack of local multi on XBLA Catan killed the game for me.
Here's an idea: on Catan for the Wii, for local multi (only), the Wiimote speaker could be used to "speak" the names of resource cards, quietly enough that only the player holding the remote (maybe holding the speaker up to their ear) can hear it. That way, up to 4 players could play on the same box, each hearing what cards they have without giving anything away to their opponents. Eh? Ehhhh?
Maybe the speaker's too crappy...

Yeah, several great board games that I'd love to see on Wii or DS have already been mentioned above. Another potentially wonderful addition for the DS would be Battleship.

I dunno, I love my Wii but when I want to play a board game I usually just play a board game. It sorta makes sense for the DS, which you can take with you anywhere, but the Wii lives in my house -- same place the board games live. Seconding the idea of DS Battleship, for sure.

I'd also love Go (the one they call chinese chess). And the obvious like Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride and so on. All the quality games, basically.
