With only one more day of waiting before the debut of the diminished E3, we've decided to get serious and offer up some real predictions about what we will -- and won't -- see at the show. Check after the jump for the breakdown, by writer, of the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of our E3 hopes and fears.
David Hinkle
- New Wii Ware content channel: Nintendo will finally give us a look at how we'll be downloading, and hopefully enjoying, original content on the Wii.
- Nintendo will show us a significant look at Disaster: Day of Crisis, including explanations on the controls scheme, as well as an extended trailer.
Alisha Karabinus
- Hard Drive add-on. I've been talking about this forever and I think it's integral for some of the ways Nintendo could really capitalize on the Wii.
- Nintendo will withhold any other real information, and playable demos will probably be few and far between, even among 3rd party devs working on Wii games. I think a lot of 3rd party games may be announced, but we won't see any of that until next year.
- Not a word about Sadness.
- There will be numerous Wiimote accessory announcements from Nyko, Naki, Mad Catz, Pelican, etc.
- New channels that give you more opportunities to use your Mii characters. The channels might not be useful, but they'll be fun for at least 10 minutes.
- No Animal Crossing Wii. Nintendo will save this one for TGS. Instead, we'll have a closer look at Battalion Wars 2.

This it's the sweet spot. Most of these predictions are logical. Fabio for Brawl.

Battalion Wars 2! Can't wait!
Here's my predictions:
Nintendo will announce the Harddrive add-on, It'll be USB Powered, but will be vendor-locked in. 2 days later, someone will figure out a way to unlock it, and will accept most normal HDDs.
Nintendo will finally announce their online plans. And will reveal several titles, Smash Bros, among others.
They'll also announce some of next year's titles, such as Mario Kart Wii and Starfox, along with Animal Crossing.
They'll also show a bunch of graphs and pictures that say how good they are, how much money they're making, and blablablablabla.

Zelda predictions, Val?
Took Nintendo 2 consoles just to get Twilight Princess out.
We won't see another Zelda for a good 3-10 years. Unless they pull another Majora's Mask and recycle everything and repackage it as a new game >_>

So did I Michael (Its easier calling us by our names than by post ID, isnt it?), but I still expect a mayor delay. Its Nintendo we're talking about.

I think they will just use the shop channels Wii Ware section that holds Opera and the Everybody Votes Channel. No real change in environment.

Predictions:
An announcement, but no real info on Pikmin 3.
There will hardly a mention of Smash Bros.
Mario Galaxy could be playable, along with Battalion wars and metroid prime 3.
Wii Music will be one of Nintendo's main focuses.
No hard-drive announcements.
2 new channels will be showed off, one being the Popularity channel.
There will be some ubisoft, EA, and activion 3rd party support there.
And thats about Nintendo's E3.

Did you even play Majora's Mask?

My prediction is specific to the HDD...it will be designed to be the new stand...replacing the standard silver one that comes with the console. This still keeps the nice sleek looks of the console, and does not scare the moms of the world by messing with her 'Feng Shui' in the living room. This will also make those with small spaces happy by not taking up any additional space.

Yes, Krakao, and I meant Graphics-wise. Ocarina of Time cost them so much, they ended up recycling the 3d models to try to get more money to recoup the investment.

Yeah, Nushio, it was funny how all these people looked exactly the same, so they claimed that the game was taking place in "an alternate world to Hyrule"
I would say they would drop some news about that Wii 2.0 that Perrin (yes, even though this came from Perrin, its non-specific, so still credible, unlike anything specific she says) talked about back in Winter, that Dojo will get some awesome updates tommorrow, and Nintendo will simultaneously announce those (kickass new characters and possibly online, possibly a date as well), show many details about Galaxy and possibly date that, announce a few sequels to the established franchises, reveal one or two new IPs (and harp about another, namely Disaster), then show a big montage of already announced titles from themselves and 3rd parties
Plus a bunch of patting themselves on the back, but thats a given for anyone's big press releases
And i wouldn't say they would ANNOUNCE anything about their online strategy, because they've already announced it. sadly enough Wii Online = DS Online
