What you see in the video is authentic NiGHTS. Sega hasn't changed it into a minigame collection or a training game or even a 3D platformer. They didn't give him a gun and a car. This is a real sequel to the Saturn game in 2.5D, just like God intended. Ignore the Disney-esque narration and flourishes in the trailer. They are irrelevant.
For some reason, these videos aren't embedded at Gamespot's NiGHTS page, despite using the Gamespot player. You can, however, download a high-resolution version of the gameplay video there. They are embedded after the break. Please watch them and improve your day!

The game play doesn't impress me much. It kind of looks fun. But what is up with no music? Seems kind of empty. I need to see something else to get me addicted.

Gotta say, the N64-level graphics don't do much for me.

Yeah, man
That easily looks as good as Super Mario Sunshine, with more shiny and bloom lighting

Wow.... NiGHTS for Saturn was a perfect game. This footage just brought a wave of nostalgia to me. If this game is even half as much fun to play as the original, it's going to be the game of the year!

The colorful worlds is definitely a big plus, and it surely looks better in motion... But I have to agree that there are times where the environment can be rendered by the N64's horsepower, like that narrow cave for instance... And why does every rock-like structure have HORRIBLE textures? Everything else is pretty nice even though some environmental models are blocky.
Now that big fat round boss guy... THAT is the Wii's horsepower in action...
In other words... this game's graphics is very inconsistent. Sometimes crap, sometimes very nice.

Hopefully they'll include the original game and Christmas Nights as unlockables. C'mon, Sega! Do us Saturn fans some good.

So the point of this game is to fly through gold rings? Basically its just a fancy version of pilot wings?
