And it's online.
At the Nintendo press conference, Reggie hinted at the possibility of massive online races. "More racers means more fun. How many more? Stay tuned." In addition to online races, Nintendo revealed an official steering wheel accessory, not too different from the ones used by Ubisoft at the system launch. The cleverly named Wii Wheel will come packaged with the upcoming Mario Kart, to be released in the beginning of 2008.

Fingers crossed for 8-16 racers.
I'd be totally happy with 8 or any number above that.
The wheel seems kind of silly, but I'm really happy to hear about this game, and happy that they've confirmed online!

Sweet, and they apparently don't need the 2-character-per-kart gimmick that they did with Double Dash
again; sweet...

I dont have enough room on my coffee table for all the different remotes and accessories for my Wii. There is going to be a new controller for every game.

This is great! I don't understand why people are complaining about Nintendo bundling extra peripherals, I doubt it will affect the price of the game. Donkey Konga was the same price as every other game and it came with the bongos.
However, I hope Nintendo make the game compatible with Wii Remotes as well, because nobody wants to have to buy extra controllers just for Mario Kart.

I just hope they do something about the snaking in this game. Mario Kart DS was fun for a couple of weeks, then it just became a chore to play. In fact, I'd like to see the whole win-loss record dropped entirely. It makes people too damn eager to cheat or drop out just to maintain their e-penis.

I like that the wiil has the B button on the bottom. That way if you want to use another game that uses the B botton you can.

Watched the G4 interview... this wheel's just a cradle for the wiimote like the other 150 wheels out there for the Wii already.
What's the point?
Nintendo! Look around at what other people are doing! There's a better blaster on the market too!
