Nintendo Wii Fanboy

The poll was missing an option: "No, I can't afford one". I've been seeing Wiis in stock quite a bit lately, but they tend only to show up during the times of month when I can't afford one.

i cant find one! Checked 5 stores yesterday and called 4 more, not in stock!!!

there are hundreds of Wiis on eBay, could probably get one for less than $350

Also missing from the poll was the option:
"I have one, but it was hard to get."

I'd imagine the large majority of the nearly 2000 voters who have a Wii either (A) camped out for one [like me], or (B) spent weeks or months searching for one and finally got lucky.


"Have those of you still in need of a Wii checked online vendors?"

That makes me laugh considering the poll answer says "I've checked online"!

Anyway, 7 months from launch I still haven't seen one on store shelves.

I got one a week after release, had to "camp out" for an hour before the store opened. About a month ago, I stopped at Wal-Mart on the way to work (5am), and they had one sitting out. I grabbed it for a friend, but he had already gotten one recently. It sold on ebay for about $5 less than what I paid with sales tax, about $260. Heh, others were selling for $400 within minutes of my auction closing. So I gave up on that ebay business idea. :)

@4 yeah thats what I would have voted. I got mine, 5 months after it came out due to no supply, then I finally camped a Walmart and got lucky.

Just got one. Had to camp out 2 hours before store opening. No Wiis in any store or using online tracker for the $249 price except at Nintendo World (NYC area). Could get one for a premium or in a package with games I did not want but not a basic console without going to store early. Still very hard to find without putting in the effort of arriving early.

i have 2 i got them the same way step1.get the sunday newspaper.2.when the best buys add has wii on the insert.3.go to best buys 1 hr before they open(they seem to get about 50 units)just befor they open the guy will come out and give you a voucher/tell you not to run ...then enjoy!!!!;-)

Got mine launch day. Waited 9 hours. Lots of fun. It was a Wal-Mart midnite launch so I was nice and toasty inside. Not that it was cold:)

My brothers friend works at Best Buy and told me on a Friday that they had Wii's but wouldn't be on the shelves til Sunday. So I got to bed early Saturday and waited in line for 2 hours to get my Wii.

Can't find one in a store, and don't want to buy a bundle which is the only thing I can ever find online.

Stock isn't as scarce as it has been, I've found a few here and they are not bundles, just the unit, you can buy online also.

I bought a Wii from my local sainsbury's (crayford, Kent) yesterday after no luck everywhere else. They had it in stock for £179.99. Sometimes its worth checking the less obvious places. A friend also mentioned that Blockbusters stores are worth a look. Best of luck!
