Nintendo reps said in an interview that Disaster is still being worked on and is coming along nicely. It just probably isn't far enough along to make a showing this week.
I'm glad to have the release dates, but I'm disappointed that reps said they are only in talks about Zelda Wii. I had heard they were already in designing. Now it seems we won't get a true Zelda Wii unti at least 2009, probably more like 2010.
I was glad to see Miyamoto shrug off questions about new Wii models. That strategy is going to kill Sony (they are going to drop the price of the current model by $100 and sell it off, while replacing it with an upgraded model for the same back-breaking $599, killing the desire to get one today). Nintendo shouldn't release a new Wii until ~2011, preferably with HD and roughly the power of the 360. In four-five years it shouldn't be hard to pack that in a case roughly the Wii's size and price it around $249.

I was expecting more information about Online play (instead of hearing about DS online and and an assuring "stay tuned" from Reggie).
Kind of hoping for Star Fox and Zelda, but I knew that was unrealistic.

As long as we're griping, how's about some Yoshi? Yoshi's Island is one of the best SNES games and the rehash on the DS was very popular. At least get him on the VC (NOT THE PUZZLE GAMES). A new Wii game would be nice. But, now he's back to being a co-star. I think Nintendo got turned off after Yoshi's Story.

I know this is very un-related, but I saw a aomewhat scary story that can potentially knock up the Wii's popularity...
read this excerpt from Kotaku...
Here's the higlight for the lazy:
the Xbox 360 will drop $100 across all SKU's. When? Sooner than you think. AUGUST 1ST.
I can't confirm all the details, but basically in less than 3 weeks the console prices will be the following:
-Xbox 360 core, $199 American (with pack-in memory unit!)
-Nintendo Wii, $249 American
-Xbox 360 Premium, $299 American
-Xbox 360 Elite, $449 Canadian, possibly $399 American
-PS3, $599 American, $649 Canadian
So August 1st, Xbox 360 will be the lowest price console on the market with the core system
Now I know that it's still a rumour but it cou;d potentially ruin the image the Wii has as the cheapest console on the market...

That's not going to do much. The 360 never really had an insane price. I don't think price was too much of an issue like it is with the 600 dollar PS3. I'm sure there will be a definite spike in sales when/if that price cut happens but it will soon level off.
The Wii has more than price on its side, it has originality. Not to mention the 360 core system is rarely purchased due to the lack of memory, and the premium will still be more expensive than the wii.

I was hoping to hear about Animal Crossing and Pilotwings for Wii. Other franchises that would have interested me are Starfox, Wave Race, and F-Zero but I'm not as excited for those as I feel that the Wii will offer more improvements for Animal Crossing (online) and Pilotwings (motion control).
Also, was Project HAMMER ever officially declared dead?
Finally, it would have been nice to get some info about upcoming VC games or the addition of new systems to VC (Gameboy?) or even the implementation of online multiplayer into VC games.

Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was put on the shelf but not officially canceled.
I'd be surprised if the 360 drops before the Halo 3 and GTA4 sales die down this fall and winter, those games are going to sell systems left and right even without a price drop. I'd expect a drop early 2008 - with the core being dropped, the premium priced at $299, and the Elite priced at $379.

Poo...nothing on a new KI game. I've been hoping for a new Icarus for years, and Pit showing up in Brawl only made me more excited.
I really wanted to hear about Wii Music, personally. It'd have also been nice to see a bit more on Mario Kart.

I believe they said HAMMER has been put 'on hold' for now and Day Of Crisis is coming along quite well.
It would have been great to see some new screens, at least, though.

It would be nice to remind them we want some form of external drive compatibility to allow us to store our VC games on a hard drive and access them via the channel menu. I am tired of copying them back in forth.

If the price of the 360 drops to 199 non gamers with kids will probably have heard of the wii. That will make it hard for the price to make that big of a difference. If they know their kid wants halo. Then it probably does not matter.

I was hoping for major announcements of new software, not a new piece of hardware. There are so few games really designed for the Wii remote. Where's Wii Music, for example?
They need to follow through on the promise of new types of games for the Wii remote, before they introduce other types of controllers. Where's the innovative software? Where are games that use the Mii avatars? I thought Wii Sports was the tip of the iceberg, now I'm thinking it's the whole hog.

@roman either nintendo is leaving it to the dojo to announce wifi themselves or no wifi for ssbb, which would officially suck.

This may seem unusual, but my biggest dissapointment is the lack of Wii Music. I'm sure Wii Fit has a wider appeal, but personally I've been looking forward to conducting an orchestra with the Wii remote. A few other music-based minigames, like the drum set shown off at e3'06, would make this a great game for people (like me) with casual interest in music/rythm games, but who aren't willing to pay for all the extra peripherals for deeper music titles.

Info on Disaster, Wii Music (definitely), whatever happened to Kirby's Adventure?
But i think if Brawl was to be offline, then Nintendo would've announced it in with the other bad news (Metroid Prime 3 offline and no playable Smash Bros), but then again, i don't really know
also. WHERE THE HELL IS FIRE EMBLEM: GODDESS OF THE DAWN?
I need that as much as anything else...

* No discussion of a cohesive online strategy
* No new games I care about
* Release dates for the AAA titles still feel pretty far off
Basically, the "drought" of stuff I like (which I realize is a pretty arbitrary category) will continue probably until SSBB. Oh well, at least I've got a 360, a PSP and a DS.

My biggest complaint is that there weren't any announcements from Nintendo of any new IP's for Nintendo fans. I mean we knew all about Metroid, Smash Bro's and Mario. Mario Kart you knew would eventually be coming although I'll believe that 1st qtr 2008 date when I see it. But where is the new stuff? Is there any?
Nintendo can claim that have the hardcore gaming crowd covered but when they have to answer that question during every interview, that should tell them something. I'm surprised more people here aren't complaining about this.
