It's strong women day for the European Virtual Console! As usual, the ladies are outnumbered (that's par for the gaming course), but today, at least they're present, and our girl Samus is even a star! Chun Li is pretty awesome in her own right, too. But it's not all about the ladies this weekend for you gamers -- though we'll risk saying that Metroid may be the best of this lot, since there are already other Street Fighter games available already (and hey, it's Metroid!).- Metroid -- NES -- 500 Wii points
- Silent Debuggers -- Turbografx -- 600 Wii points
- Street Fighter II Turbo -- SNES -- 800 Wii points

Those lucky Brits. First they get SMB2 and PM and now they get Metroid. Still got to try finishing that without Justin Bailey.

This means we'll be getting it very soon, perhaps this coming Monday. I'm still occupied with Paper Mario for the time being.
If Kid Icarus was any indication, Nintendo will remove the Justin Bailey code from Metroid. Wow, I think I was about 7 years old when I beat this game...

Now all they need to do is take this stupid 50Hz TV mode restriction OFF the Virtual Console for Europe...

Great, now we can have Metroid on the NES, Classic NES Series, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, Metroid Zero Mission and the Wii. Don't get me wrong, it's a classic, but why can't you release Super Metriod already? I'm hoping that if it isn't out soon, it'll get released the same week as Corruption comes out.

No the question is why won't they release Metroid 2. I'll play Super Metroid but I want to experience the genocide of the Metroid.

I believe JUSTIN BAILEY was just a coincedence, wasn't it?
One of the randomly generated save state codes just bappened to spell a plausable name

JUSTIN BAILEY was a coincidence. But since this game used the same exact engine (and thus password system) for the American NES, the passwords will be different. These were disk system games in Japan. Maybe now we'll have a BUSTIN JAILEY or something. Hey, it could happen.
And I really think Nintendo should be releasing VC games a week or two before their Wii sequels come out. Smash Bros. should come out before Brawl, the Metroids before Corruption, etc. They already did the Paper Marios in the wrong order though.
