Today's dojo update brings us the character profile for series veteran Yoshi. We remember many a friendship being destroyed over his Egg Roll attack. With him returning to the series, we're anticipating a large surplus of BFF bracelets to come into our possession soon.
Check out some images of Yoshi in-game in the gallery below.

He has a recovery move now. That instantly buffs him out of the abyss.

Do they have to make Yoshi prance around like that all the time?

What I find interesting is the completely different art style used for Yoshi than was in Melee.
Melee Yoshi = Yoshi’s Island
Brawl Yoshi = Yoshi’s Story
The most obvious detail is the style of his eyes.
Melee Yoshi had a longer neck, and more lizard-like arms.
Brawl Yoshi is stubbier, as well as having more human-like arms. Although, his shoes ARE brown, like the original Yoshi in Super Mario World, as opposed to red shoes with newer Yoshis.
Something else that's interesting is that Super Smash Bros. and Melee had stages based on Yoshi's Story (and one based off of Super Mario World in Melee), whereas Brawl has one based off of Yoshi's Island.
Inconsistant? Or am I just paying too close attention to details?

I wouldn't have noticed this, but now that BPM has mentioned it, he's right
That is a distinctly younger looking yoshi, with the pudgier, cuter look from the N64 game (which i love) than the look from the SNES game (which i don't love, damn Baby Mario)

Khan... You loved Yoshi's Story... but DIDN'T love Yoshi's Island?
I FALCON PUNCHED YOU NOW! >:O
(Don't get me wrong, Yoshi's Story was a fun game, but Yoshi's Island was leaps and bounds above it. And, hey, if you don't get hit, you don't hear Mario cry. :P)

Oh your god(guess the reference!)... Yoshi's freakish-ly long arms are creeping me out. I remember when he had stubby little mitts. Heck it even look like he's been hitting the gym with those muscles(that's what they look like to me at least).

Bender, from Futurama. Now, try a more obscure quote. ;P

Uggh. Don't try to pass off Futarama quotes on Joystiq.

Oops. I meant don't try to make us guess a reference from Futurama. Half the regulars on Joystiq and spinoffs are Futurama fans.

Mario should have a grab where he can ride Yoshi for a short period.
