It really depends upon how you want to count the games for Wii. If we are counting only Wii-specific games (exclusive or not), then I'd be disappointed with what we have so far but impressed for a first year, given what the rest of the lineup is going to be. Since launch, I've played no games that were made ground up for Wii exclusively that I feel are must haves. LoZ and SPM are great but both GC games at heart. I love Tiger Woods and Madden but they are multi-platform. SSX Blur is good and a few others are fun, but nothing really sticks out to me.
If we are counting all of the games playable on Wii (Wii, GC, and VC games), the lineup has far exceeded my expectations. I haven't gone a week since launch with less than three games ready for me.
So for me
Wii games only (first 9 months) - 4/10
All playable games - 10/10
Wii games (first 13 months) - 10/10

I've been playing VC games and PC games (mostly BF2142) to pass the time waiting for Metroid. I haven't played any Metroid game since the original NES version when I was a kid so this has been a long wait for me. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
I haven't played a new Wii game since I finished the Legend of Zelda in January so it's been a long drought so far in terms of new Wii titles.
Anyone recommend Boogie, out today?

I got mine at launch and it's felt pretty light on the games. However, I simply chalk it up to being an early adopter. The PS3 is equally weak on games, as was the 360 at this point after launch.
There's been no drought, simply a steady stream of poor to mediocre titles as companies slap stuff together in order to get on board to money train that is the Wii. Though, with 3 AAA games coming by the end of this year, the nearest in a matter of days, I'm not concerned.

From this point on there are good games coming out at a steady pace. Anyone who can get EVERY wii game that is good from now on is rich!

Yawn!
Wha?
I'm still playing my ps2 mostly.
Not saying they should start rushing things. I expect some really good gamesto be coming out on another year or so. No gaming system ever hit it's peak within a year.
No matter, when my friends come over they're still happy playing wii sports and warioware. However, it would help if some of the launch titles started getting some discount treatment.

Yeah, i pretty much just play cube games on my Wii. There are lots of good games coming out soon, but most of the previous games are just minigame compilations. SSBB!

UpIrons, I'd suggest playing through Metroid Prime and MP2 before you get MP3 - it is a trilogy after all. You can get them used for $20 together and they are great games with about 30 hours of play.

I started out playing lots of Cube games (SMS, Pikmin). Since finishing Elebits, Rabbids, and SPM, I'm playing mostly Cube games again (HM:AWL, MP5). Anxiously awaiting SMG and BWii!!!

I've been playing my PS2 lately more, too. RE4 was a fun distraction, and the VC keeps me entertained, too.
...but otherwise, it's been pretty barren up until now.
I'm not a person who buys a new game every week, or even rents them. But it would be nice if a good, new game dropped maybe every 4-6 weeks. That's a good pace for me.
Thankfully, the rest of the year and then some is shaping up rather nicely, with NiGHTS 2, Mario Galaxy, SSBB and then Mario Kart (although 500:1 says it's delayed).
And I'm hoping Wii Fit and Wii Music are good, too.

I think it all depends on the games that you like. I am a bit disappointed because I love Nintendo 1st party games and I knew owning a Wii would be a good choice, but they are taking a while to be released similar to the duration of GameCube games during the GameCube generation.
I do take into consideration that the only 3rd party developer that was on board was Ubisoft and now that more 3rd parties are on board we won't really see games from the ground up for Wii until next year because it's going to take time to develop them.
I did enjoy Zelda, Super Paper Mario, God Father 2, Scarface, Sonic, RE4, Excite Truck and Wii Sports but these could have simply been done on the GameCube (with the exception of Wii Sports). I'm not really complaining though because using the Wii remote (in my opinion) is a lot more fun than a controller. They have completely sold me on the Wii remote. But I do find myself playing more PS3 games and especially 360 games.
Now why I don't regret getting a Wii is that my family is so into it it's unbelievable. We actually have Wii Sports tournaments and we have so much fun with games like Rayman, Wario Ware, Big Brain, Mario Party 8 (yes we actually like this game) and Excite Truck. There are times where the lights are off and everyone is watching me play Zelda or RE4 as if it's a cinematic movie. We are the type of family that literally locks themselves in their rooms when we come home from work or school and the only time we're really together as a family is during dinner time but now we're playing Wii together.
It's sad that a piece of hardware brought us more together as a family but I'm glad that it has. I do wish that there were more games that will show some nay-sayers that the Wii is not for hardcore gamers. I'm tired of hearing about bad graphics as a bullet point when the PS2 during it's generation didn't have graphics compared to GameCube or Xbox yet the PS2 was by far the best console to own during that generation because of the huge library of games to play. I wish that for the Wii.

Well, seeing as i got my Wii only a week or so ago, I have LOTS to catch up on! In my situation, after Wii sports, the game I got was RE4 (i don't want to explain why...). But, my next game, will be Metroid, which is now in August. Thyen I have September, where I will buy one of 3 games (if not 2 of them) which will be SPM, LoZ or Warioware (or SPM or Loz AND Warioware). Then, in November, I have SMG, which is supposed to hold me off until Dec 3rd, which will be the launch of the game that will hold up till the next console :P, Super Smash Bros. Brawl!!! Obviously, I will have to buy either SPM or LoZ depending on which I missed out on first, after Brawl or something, then I have my birthday on Dec 4th :P:P:P which is awesome and christmas on Dec 25!!! So I can see with what to upgrade my Wii (controllers, Wii Points and the like). Finally, throughout this stuff I can still buy VC games and stuff again, and being a Flash Game fanatic, the Wii browser will hold me up whenever I have nothing to do on PC or on the Wii. I also have a few GC games to look into...
I guess, as most can tell from this, I will have a prosperous Wii life.

I honestly think Dewy's Adventure looks kinda fun. That comes out a week after Metroid. It has polished looking graphics and seems to have a fun playing style despite its kiddie-oriented gloss.

I think by the time this year is through, there will be "enough".
But I think they really could have stood to exceed expectations. Not just killer sequels to mario and metroid, but *one* killer non-casual title that no one was expecting.

I am on the fence. I was an early adopter and it has been a lot of fun. However the more games I play the more it becomes a gimic to me. Maybe I am not made out for the Wii and if game quality doesn't improve I will just use it for retro gaming.

I've been back-and-forth between Wii and DS since the start, and between the two of them i've been completely satisfied
Wii itself would've been a bit dry, but we're still getting good stuff across, i loved the Secret Rings, and am loving Strikers Charged. I'm content

The Wii has definitely been light for me. My problem is that I've gotten cheap over the years so there are very few games I'm going to pay full price for. I usually wait for price drops before picking games up and most Wii games haven't dropped in price yet. There are only 2 games out there that I'm willing to pay full price for, Zelda and Paper Mario. I finished those long ago. Metroid is the next one.
Now there are many games out I still want to play like Sonic, Excite Truck, and Elebits among others but I'll wait till these drop to $20.
My DS and GCN has kept me busy since about May.

The wii line-up is good enough for me. I play my DS most of the time so I haven't run out of things to play (on my 2nd run in RE4).

Thanks for the tip. I took your advice and picked up Metroid Prime for $5.99 thinking I had gotten it for a steal. Unfortunately GameStop couldn't tell me if I needed a Gamecube controller and memory card or if my classic controller works. I kind of knew the answer but wanted to test their knowledge anyway - idiots.
Anyway, I am now waiting for my wireless controller to come in the mail along with a memory stick. So far this $5.99 GameCube game has cost me $30 and I still have yet to find Metroid Prime 2. But at least I will be able to play other GC titles which, from what I've heard, should be worth it.
Looking forward to playing the trilogy though and it should all work out good as far as timing. By the time I work my way through the first 2, there should be plenty of used copies of Metroid Prime 3 for me to choose from. Just don't give me any spoilers!
