Capcom held a poll last week asking which platform gamers most wanted to see a new Mega Man game on, and Wii won! If Capcom listens to our opinions, we can expect an announcement soon about a new Wii game. Of course, they've probably already been working on a Wii Mega Man game-- why wouldn't they?
The only question is: which spinoff series will it be? Mega Man X? Mega Man Battle Network? Mega Man Star Force? Mega Man Zero? Mega Man ZX? Mega Man Legends? (That one would actually be okay!) Maybe it'll be a Rockman Battle & Chase sequel. The only thing we're absolutely certain won't happen is a real Mega Man game. After years of milking the series on the NES, Capcom seems to be extremely resistant toward putting the Blue Bomber back at the forefront of the series.

Damnit Capcom, just give us the original Mega Man already.
Mega Man 9 would be preferred, but anything with the original Mega Man would be acceptable.
The X series was OK, but after that the whole thing went to crap...from a visual/artistic direction, at least. So generic.

Original Mega Man would be great. I would be satisfied as long as its a side scroller.

I'd like a 2.5D scroller with some kickass waggle controls
But it will be interesting to see how they act on it. SEGA's user poll gave us NiGHTS 2, so my hopes are high

Oh thank god!! I was SOOO worried that a portable system would win. Yay!
I'm REALLY hoping for a direct sequel to MegaMan Network Transmission. Yes, it's based on the Battle Network universe and uses a card system, BUT once you get into it, it actually stays more true to the original series than MegaMan X does. MM Network Transmission, IMHO is the best MegaMan since MegaMan 3.
If it's not a MMNT, then I'm with poster #1: I'd rather have MegaMan 9, than anything based on the MegaMan X series. The MegaMan X games aren't bad, but they're really just not as good as the original series. And I don't give a flying fuck about the whole "Replicants vs. Mavericks" garbage. Or really any storyline beyond "Gotta go stop Dr. Wiley again". But if there MUST be a story line, I'd rather have a MMNT-style story than have to put up with any more of that Replicant/Maverick junk.
Of course, if it ends up based off of MegaMan Legends I'll shoot myself.

They should make a new MegaMan X4. Except instead of sucking, they need to make it like X1,2,3.
Legends would be fine too...

An original MM (For nostalgia's sake), X (X8 was actually great. Hope they can keep that success up) or Zero (I liked the darker tone, different structure and deeper storylines of that series) would be fantastic IMO.
Of course, there could always be Megaman Soccer 2 *puke*

It can't possibly be another Megaman Battle Network, that game officially ended on the 6th game, for real.

The reason they stopped at 8? Because the entire Dark Energy deal. Dark Energy? If that isn't generic, I don't know what is. The original Megaman was plagued with the same problems Megaman X started to face at about 5, they simply ran out of ideas.
That is why there was never a Megaman 9.
Oh, they could just make a whole new one together.
Or one that ties X to the original one.

I loved the "Legends" series (damn you, PS1 for taking the second game) but it would be nice to see a real megaman game.....how about porting/upgrading that good PSP game? Or rather, something like it. Megaman X rocked.

I think the only way they can save Mega Man is just by scrapping everything and calling the next game Mega Man One Million, and then every single Mega Man game from then on would count up from there.

Megaman Legends 3, please!
I've been playing Legends 1 & 2 on my PS3 this week, and aside from control issues resulting from having to play Legends 1 with the D-Pad, the games hold up pretty well. Heck, I'd settle for a compilation disc for the Wii featuring Legends 1, 2, and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Megaman Legends is good stuff.

I gotta say, I'm actually intrigued by the idea of using the RE4 gameplay engine and building a megaman in that same gameplay style, the movement would have to be smoothed up and sped up, but it really could work, as long as they don't try to make it look realistic or some such crap.
Or, how about a high res. 2d remake of the trillogy, 1 2 and 3, but better looking and updated, not the exact same game like the Megaman Powered Up, but a game inspired by the first 3, things the same, things similar and some things different.

Mega Man Legends 3 would be great! I'm still surprised at how much I ended up liking that series. On paper, it sounded like a nightmare for fans from the NES days.
