Today over at the dojo, we get a glimpse at a new item: the Franklin Badge. When this badge is picked up and worn, the player is protected from projectiles. As is shown when Zero Suit Samus fires at Donkey Kong while he is wearing the badge, all the bullets just bounce off. We imagine the badge will be the great equilizer in one-on-one matches against a certain incredibly cheap character.

Hopefully you'll still be able to do this, but with the Franklin badge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCKmLMM1yg0
More importantly, this is a semi-confirmation that Ness will be back. They'll probably confirm him next week.

They haven't confirmed Snake or Peach yet so why would they confirm Jigglypuff now?

No "official" confirmation on any of those characters, but they're there
Ness would be the only character to make sense, if they put in a character from Mother 3, that would leave Western Audiences clueless for the most part, but it may serve to advertise for an impending Mother 3 release (just as Roy advertised an upcoming JP Fire Emblem game)
Mother items always rule, but i wonder if they'll localize it to be an "EarthBound" badge?

If you're serious, you hearby revoke your NDF status
"What's Mother?" Mother is EarthBound, Ness's "series" even though he wasn't in Mother 3
Mother is the rallying cry of those wishing for Nintendo to get off their asses and localize some Japan-only stuff

Just because I don't go to Starmen.net or anything doesn't mean I don't not support localization of all Nintendo games.

Doubtful, since the badge wears off after a while, and to do the black hole glitch, you need some time.
