We haven't seen many reviews for the game yet, but what's out there certainly warrants discussion. It's been mostly good scores, but 1UP certainly didn't like it in the long run. But, without further delay, let's check out the reviews so we can get to the good part: your thoughts.
- GamePro (80/100) thinks the game only lacks the fun of multi-tasking: "Pros: Easy, accessible fun. Song list is varied and interesting. Cons: You can't sing and dance at the same time, there's no online play and the replay value is low."
- Game Informer (78/100) is of the mind that the game isn't for music snobs: "Leave your stuffy music and game sensibilities at the door – Boogie has a more plebeian appeal."
- Games Radar (70/100) says multiplayer makes it last: "As with most Wii games, it really glistens with more than one player. If you're willing to commit to Boogie, mind, body and sooooul, it's a goddamned blast, channeling the same enthusiastic participation we all had last year when firing up Wii Sports first time. But then it's all over too quickly, and too easily."
- 1UP (30/100) really trashes the game: "The fact that this game is fun for exactly 20 minutes, and only in a group of two or more, should keep you from buying this game. In the end, Boogie is light on dancing, light on karaoke -- a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none moment of fluff."

my thoughts: why didn't you mention the metacritic page that some of that info came from?

A copypasta would imply they didn't search through the review for the choice snippet.

I got the game. My wife and I played it for a couple of hours yesterday. Here is a very brief rundown of our thoughts:
Fairly easy to get the hang of the dancing, but it seems almost too shallow.
The karaoke mode is kind of fun but we've already gone through the majority of the decent songs even after unlocking quite a few of the "good ones" they make you work for.
The biggest disappointment is the lack of full 2 player support. They really made it seem like this game was going to be big on "dancing with friends" when in fact the "party" mode is the only 2 player mode on the game and only really lets you dance off against 1 friend for up to 15 songs.
Since there was such a lackluster 2 player mode I decided to give the story mode a try. Boy what a letdown. This is extremely weird actually. The characters basically stood still on screen while little text bubbles showed their conversations while beeping noises reflect their actual speech. $60 for this game and they couldn't do a little better on this? And the thing is that all the story mode really does is take you through more karaoke and dancing that you can really do on your own without the stupid beeping speak that these "aliens" use.
We did have some fun so it's worth a rent to see for yourself. If you have young kids and want them to learn some rythm it might be good for that.
Tomorrow my wife and I are having some friends over and we'll be putting Boogie to the test of a true Wii party and I may write more if it turns out to be a fun time.
For now, however, my prediction for this game is that it will collect as much dust in my collection as Wii Play does. That should give you a good idea as to how shallow this game is.

Nah, it looks like a waste of cash. I rather wait on DDR. If it comes out for Wii.
It's true about the Wii. Most of the games are fun with a lot of ppl. Fun in a very limit point of view. Especially in a life of a grown-up.

I don't think I'll be trusting 1UP's reviews... they gave "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" an 8.0. I've played that game, and while it's scale is amazing, and its plot rich, its implementation is HORRIBLE.
Mario Strikers Charged gets a 7.5 from them, and Wii Sports a 6.5. These are two of the most fun games I've played on the system.
At least they rated Zelda:TP highly, although I disagree with their perfect 10.0 for that game.

@Jamesology: DDR is indeed headed to the Wii. "Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party" has a release date of September 25, 2007 (along with 8 other Wii games - whoa!) and will be sold with and without a bundled dance pad.
