Josh from WiiFolder.com loves Dewy's Adventure, and he's not above inventing his own logic to make you love it as well. He's created a video called "Top 10 Reasons Why Dewy's Adventure Completely Rocks!" Of course, his definition of "rocking" is idiosyncratic at best: KISS, for example, were never known for their "cutesy style."
We agree with some of his reasoning: edit mode is wonderful, and the game appears to have excellent level design. We don't think he's going to win any converts with his reasons, but on the other hand, for those of us who already think Dewy looks great, this is a chance to see a bunch of footage.

It is too bad it bombed in Japan. Around 4k in 2 weeks. It never stood a chance against Mario Party 8, Gundam Wii, and a hell of a lot of other titles that were released the same day.

Dewy still looks like a fun game, but that video actually made me like it a little less. For one of many reasons why, go back and listen to his list of "unique" level design: grass world, tree world, ice world, cave world, desert world, and fire world. Sound familiar? Yeah, it's the same damn set of stage themes from 90% of all platformers ever created. The ..."gauntlet" as he calls it, is a refreshingly unique design compared to the rest, but thats one out of seven.
Also, he lists elements of the game aside from the temperature changing mechanic that make the game "more than a one trick pony". Um, lemme type the list, and you tell me if these sound amazingly original or intriguing.
-Avoid "Swinging monster boat thingies"
-Find hidden keys to unlock gates
-Slide around on ropes
-Melt giant ice cubes that STAND IN YOUR WAY(because this is separate from the temperature mechanic, entirely)
-Float across "the windy breeze"(see above)
-Navigate maze puzzles
-Jump across spinning platforms
-Activate different switches (Yeah, you heard right. There's multiple. Dewy's Adventure is that good)
-Keep your balance on rolling logs
-Freeze lava (Also, I assume, completely seperate from the temperature changing mechanic)
-Freeze water (Once again, more temperature-unrelated freezing)
-Activate steam and float around
-Reach up high levels by jumping on mushrooms
-Smash through enemies with the invincibility power-up
-Platform across boxes with SCARY LION FACES carved on them
-and, of course, stomp on these weight shifter.... thingies.

Your point was not made, you have to play the game to understand how greatly designed the levels are. Its easy to just write them off as "OH YOU CAN PLATFORM ON TEH STUFF IN OTHER GAMEZ 2!?"
But its when you're sliding around having a blast that you realize how well done the level design is, and the WHOLE game in general.

I'll probably end up getting this at some point, though I don't quite think it'll be worth its release price. I enjoyed Elebits, even though we've played it for maybe 4 hours since we bought it last Xmas.. I'm sorry, Wii. We've neglected you terribly.
