Only a mere few hours after we first heard about people having problems taking Madden 08 online, EA has dished out a release stating that they're well-aware of the issue and already working on a patch. Ea states that "there is currently a high volume of people playing online, this is the best time for us to monitor and maximize the experience." Sounds good to us, but what sounds even better is EA's assurance that within the next 24 hours, they should have a fix ready to go for this.

You know what would be cool? EA is patching their game and we can probably download it through system update or whatever.
Rayman Raving Rabbids was released with a bug that you cannot possibly unlock the final video. Considering how popular that game is for the Wii, Ubisoft should release a patch that we can also download to fix that bug.

I think the problem that I'm having is similar to when I play chess online.
You start playing and if you dominate they leave.

Rocketman, they're probably too busy working on the sequel.
I'm waiting it out a week to make my decision to purchase this - the sketchy online mode was the only thing keeping me back.
Also, that's the first cap I've seen of the game. Is that actually from the Wii version? Looks good...

TWOO DEE, that's actually from 07, but there's plenty of screens out there for 08. Go to wii.ign.com's page for the game or right here

For better or worse, those caps are pretty much what we get for the Wii version. The aren't impressive but graphics count for about 5% of the formula for Wii. I bought the Wii version because it is just so much more fun to play, especially if you have multiplayer locally. Online is ok, hopefully it'll improve, and controls are GREAT, vastly improved. There are a few bugs (reportedly) but it doesn't seem to be anything that kils the game.

I've read several blogs now and it seems I'm the only one who's reading this as EA is updating and improving the servers. Not sure why everyone is reading this as a downloadable patch...they really need to do that though. I was considering buying Madden for the first time, well, ever, but too many people seem to be having problems with this game. I still may pick it up...but I'll wait and see.

The only bug i am getting is that if you don't have your auto save feature on when playing in franchise mode it doesn't save your game at all. It takes you right back out to the main menu. Meaning the last 45 minutes was really for nothing.

Justin, save the game manually through the bottom option on the Franchise menu.

I really have enjoyed this game quite a bit and have
played a few games Online w/ very little lag. What I
really am not happy about is, I'll be playing a game
online and the lag is so bad that the game literally is
moving at about a frame a second.Just totally unplayable.
I quit and My DNF percentage goes up and I get a loss.
Not fun.
