VC Monday Madness: Super Metroid, Shinobi III and Neutopia
There are going to be three new titles you may download from the Virtual Console in little under an hour, and one of them is perhaps one of the best games ever made: Super Metroid. As far as the franchise goes, we can easily say it is our favorite entry. But, not to be outdone by Nintendo's Class A act of a SNES game, Sega's Shinobi III is also available. As for this third game, well we've never heard of it:

Everyone remember this. I am tired of seeing the same comments on so many blogs.
Wii Shop Channel does not update until 12pm EST every Monday.
Which means you have another 12 minutes or so to get the new releases.
Me? I want me some Metroid. I'll pass on the Zelda rip-off and Bioshock (PC) will take up too much time to let me play any Shinobi.

I feel really bad for Shinobi III. It's AWESOME and it's been completely buried by Super Metroid. I hope people come back to it on a slow week or something. I guess that's the bad part of having such a killer VC week.
Neutopia's pretty okay too.

I hate to go slightly off-topic, but am I the only one to notice how the Metroid Prime 2 Preview Channel hasn't added today's new videos yet?
That makes me a sad panda.

I've noticed that, Prime... I've definitely noticed that.
But what gets me more is that I can't seem to connect to the Shop Channel!!! I just want some Super Metroid lovin'. Is that so wrong?

I just beat Super Metroid on the Virtual Console. Clear time: 2:02. Rate for collecting items: 61%.
Best game ever. I found the d-pad on the Classic Controller to cause some problems though. It was much harder to change into a ball in mid-air than with the SNES controller and sometimes when running, Samus aims up or down in the direction you're moving instead of going straight. I don't even want to try playing with a Gamecube controller since the button mapping is too different. Maybe I'll have to get one of those adapters that lets you loug an original SNES controller into the Gamecube controller ports (or just live with it).
Did anyone else experience anything like this?
