Pretty good game, though. Other games on the list include a forgotten launch-era NES sports game and Ordyne, the adorable Namco horizontal shooter that we totally already have! This week's Japanese Virtual Console releases are:
- Volleyball (Famicom, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Mega Drive, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)
- Ordyne (PC Engine, 1-2 players, 600 Wii Points)

I just add my VC purchases to Delicious Library. I get the visual gratification w/out having to take up physical space on y shelves....best of both worlds.

Interesting really, would expect them to do the Sonic 3 & Knuckles release and not the solo only sonic 3 game.
Not worth buying it really.
Gusse they want to grab what ever money they can.

I wonder if we'll ever see the Sonic 2/Sonic 3 & Knuckles releases? As far as I know, it's very difficult/impossible to get a working ROM dump of either game.

You can get all the sonic classics for $15 for play on any of the next-gen systems (via backwards compatibility, Sonic Mega Collection for GC and mega collection + for Xbox and PS2, although i'm not sure if its up for 360 BC)
But yeah, this is the odd case out, and its this kind of disharmony between Japanese and American markets that really tore SEGA apart, and what prevented them from beating the SNES globally

I think this is how a lot of Sonic boxarts were like in Japan during the time. US got newly drawn boxarts instead.
I think it was for the better, yes yes?
