Metroid Week: Ads we've seen and loved

When we were thinking about content to post during Metroid Week, old commercials immediately sprang to mind. From the old NES commercials that declared we were playing with power to funky Japanese ads that have a live action, cosplaying Samus, we knew that you readers would get a kick out of it. So, head on past the break and get an eye full of some commercials starring our favorite bounty hunter.

We forgot how sweet this game looked for an original Game Boy title.

The short clip of Samus walking at the end reminds us of the end of the first Terminator movie.

This is one of our favorite ads, hands down. We love that soundtrack.

THE POWER IS NINTENDO!

There isn't much to this ad, but seeing Samus run around in her Zero Suit at the end is nice.

Finally, we've got an ad for the first game from Japan. We wish we had a suit like that.

The live reenactment of the Super Metroid opening scene is great! You even get to see Ripley's claw grab the Metroid. Funny stuff.

Why are video game commercials so universally corny? I guess it's really hard to convey fun in a TV ad.

Again, rumors have been floating around about a Metroid movie since 2002 and Metroid Prime, but i always assumed the concept was stillborn

My favorite was the GameCube ad for Metroid Prime... where Samus is walking down the street and the suit starts to form on her.
