The culture of gaming (and especially comics) is chock full of hypothetical battles, often ending in heated geek debate. And this browser game is no different. But, seeing as how we're celebrating something here this week, we felt compelled to share this game with you.
The controls aren't the best and you actually control Mega Man the entire time, but it's still got enemies and areas from the original Metroid title.

Note to humanity: Game features a bug that makes recovering your life/energy impossible.
Other than that, the game was enjoyable. I've been playing Super Metroid. I have yet to beat it, but thats mainly because I haven't played much, and its my first play through.

I could recover health and ammo. I find the controls frustrating. For such a small guy he has a huge hit box. I can't hold a charge and jump at the same time, with any control. Samus freaking cheats at the end. Just keep on the other side of the platform. When she jumps over go underneath the platform and she'll land on top of it. After the first time you can use S. Missile.

Played it on Newgrounds a while back. Also worth playing is MegaMan Vs Ghosts 'N Goblins. Samus is so much easier to defeat with Arthur's lance, just as Arthur is so much easier to beat with super missiles.
Oh yeah beat both and you can play as ProtoMan.

Hey! I made that game and you're not linking to my site. That makes me a sad panda. Why sess anyway? I didn't even put the sequel there, Newgrounds is the both game's home away from home. Ah well.
Also, #1, you're full of it. And #2, you're totally right.
