Some rumors just won't die.In the case of this rumor, however, that's a good thing. See, we love Capcom's Okami game. It was supposed to be on the GameCube, but no ... they got it on PS2. Now, we're crossing our fingers the game will make it onto the Wii.
According to the latest edition of EGM (due out on shelves September 4th), Capcom has already been working on the port. And, yes, it will have complete Wiimote support (obviously).
Whether this is true or not is anyone's guess. You folks know what we're hoping for, though.

I saw an add for this in an EB games (was trading in some GC games for TP!) and it pissed me off. "Draw beautiful artwork with just a flick of the analog sticks!" or something....this game would be great on the wii

All this time I keep wondering why I haven't gotten around to buying Okami. Now I know. (or, at least, I hope so!)

Please let this happen. I'd re-buy it in a heartbeat.
I also want Godhand 2 and Viewtiful Joe 3 on the Wii.
Godhand 2 will tragically never happen, but maybe if we all beg hard enough, Viewtiful Joe 3 could become a Wii Ware title.

I really with they would just make another game instead of releasing a port. I loved Okami for my PS2 and its one of my favorite games of recent memory but is this really all the Wii can do?
Well I guess the counterpoint to my argument is that maybe if it sells well they will make a sequel for Wii.
A guy can dream can't he? a guy can dream....

@ #6 , sorry brother, has much as I would love to see sequel to Okami, Clover Studio is no more. I suppose Capcom will use Studio 51 or perphaps Grasshopper, just guessing.

After the critical and financial (it sold better than they expected) success of RE4:WE, I wouldn't be surprised to see more wiimakes of good capcom games.

In case Capcom happens to read this, I would *absolutely* buy Okami again if it came out for Wii (with pointer controls for drawing). That game was amazing enough the first time; add "real" drawing and maybe a few extras for replayability (digging for those pearls kind of sucked, some kind of New Game+/Very Hard mode maybe?), and I'd easily fork over 30-40 (*maybe* 50) bucks again.
