Some of you may not be prepared for this news. We're kind of not prepared for it ourselves. The new Sonic Riders game, Zero Gravity, has a feature that we think is great: online rankings. That's something we've asked for in more Wii games (specifically VC games, but we'll take it in anything), and we think it's a nice way for people who ... like to compete to do so.
We could also see lag being a big-time problem in a racing game, especially one that uses wireless connections only for Internet play. Rankings sidestep that issue nicely. Good job, Sega! Keep showing us evidence that work is being done on this game! With the game due out in January, there's still plenty of time to add new stuff-- like graphics.

I was gonna say, good feature on a crap game still equals crap game. Let's see online leaderboards for Trauma Center 2, or better yet, online coop.

Hey that is good new for the three people that will buy this game. My god just let Sonic RIP. Mario and Sonic at the Olympics now that sounds good but this; this is like keeping someone on life support for 3 years just let them go.

What's great about this feature is that it will be very easy to top the leader boards, because no one who actually sees the back of the game box is going to buy this thing. Note to Sega: Just because, thus far, Wii owners have been willing to pay for GameCube graphics does not mean they are interested in downgrading to N64 graphics - that is, unless you're going to toss this ugly polygon gang-bang onto VC.

1. This game looks as good as the original, which isn't to say "good" overall. Its not a down-grade, its close-up shots of a game with piss-poor character models
2. If you so fear lag, you're not considering Mario Kart, on the DS even...
3. I liked the original game. Go ahead, shoot me now ;)
