According to a rumor attributed to an EB/Gamestop conference in Las Vegas, the game that'll come with the Zapper is ... Link's Crossbow Training.
Yep.

As long as we can shoot ducks or fish out of a barrel I'm OK with it.

Yeah, this is great news in my opinion! I felt that the Wii Play Shooting Range game is more fun than Duck Hunt, and something fresh like this would be more interesting to me. Think of the cool Hyrulian graphics! NEW ZELDA ON WII! And not only that, but a Zelda with a GUN ATTACHMENT isn't that a little weird? It's as fresh as Tingle's Rupee Picks.

WII PLAY for the Wii was stellar but it did incorporate duck hunting no matter how brief. This game doesnt seem like it was a scrapped minigame and should be quite good.

Woah good point. Online leaderboards would be so rulin' for this! Online 'Wii'derboards that is ha ha. I think there was more said about this in the source... yet they have opted to keep their commentary and elucidation to a 'yep' in this article. The person who commented said that they thought it was running on the Twilight Princess engine, that you had some control over Link, and some other stuff.

Excuse me, but when has link EVER used a crossbow? Also, wouldn't it make more sense to bundle it with a game that actualy uses a gun? Also, wasn't it already confirmed to come with re:uc

I don't think Re:UC but 'Ghost Recon,' only because they are making it available in a few different pack ins. For example, Re:UC can be two player. Get the Nintendo $20 pack in and the Ghost Recon package and you just got yourself two nice shiney Zappers without having two have two copies of Link's Crossbow Training.
When has Link ever had a crossbow? Well, whenever they say he has, he is like reincarnated over and over. What the hell is so un-Zeldalike about a crossbow? Several of the Moblins have been shooting at me with them in Twilight Princess I think, why should they have all the fun? It seems entirely within the Zelda universe to do so. Anyway, rock on. It sounds weird, but awesome.

Plus, they are cleverly highlighting the fact that it doesn't even have to be a gun, this new Wii Zapper. It never occured to me that it would make an awesome crossbow until I heard this news. I mean, the Wii! The only gaming system where, in six months, you will be able find out how much you way while leaning around, flapping your arms, while your friends can drive around your living room while your other buddy shoots things with a realisticly behaving shotgun/crossbow weapon. Why not sing into an add on microphone while doing all this? The Wii rocks!

@ Comment 3 and others, also. Who said any game with 'Link' in the title automatically makes the game related to Legend of Zelda.

Does anyone remember a two player arcade game where one person drove a car and the other shot from the car? I think it was a cop game of some sort... what a Wii game that could be!
Troy @ comment 10 reminded me of it with his descriptions of the new official hardware peripherals...

Bah! The folks at Wii Fanboy don't seem to get it. This is a really cool idea. Duckhunt with a Twilight Princess theme? I say that could be a steal for $20.

This is from something official looking: link follows
"Link's Crossbow Training drops players into a world in the style of The Legend of Zelda(R): Twilight Princess. Players assume the identity of hero Link, who progresses through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship. Start with stationary bull's-eyes and graduate to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies."

@SpinachConvention, I played that game. I loved that game. I don't remember the name.
But holy shit, one player with the zapper and one with the steering wheel, or even... one driver and 2 or 3 shooters, that could be insane.
