I got 6AA batteries + charger for $20. They're the same ones in the picture (i think), and they charge in 15 minutes, so if they die mid-game, i can be gaming again in no time.

I use the exact same Energizers as in the pictures. They work great and give me the same bat life as non-rechargables. Now that I got them for my Wii I wound up using them in a ton of other devices. Im hooked now.

We have the Nyko charge station for 2 of the remotes, and just regular batteries for the other 2 (they don't get used very often...so I am OK with the regular batteries in those).
The Nyko station is great...it chrges pretty quick, and retains it's charge for a good while.

I use rechargeable batteries for everything. Buying regular batteries is so expensive and such a huge waste of money. I just plunked down about $50 bucks on a charger and a few packs of batteries and I use them for everything but clocks, now. Wiimotes, PS2 controller, Wavebird, water fountians, flashlights, blah blah blah.
...although I also use those flashlights that you power up with a crank.
One thing I've noticed and quite hate, though, is that Energizer's rechargeable batteries only properly recharge in their own chargers. Otherwise they only last about 1/4 as long. Pisses me off.

Same as the pic, and about the same price. I constantly have a set in the charger because I need to have replacements ready - I play the Wii that often.

Sooooo sick of rechargable batteries. I've bought so many different sets and chargers and ended up giving them all away because of the hassle and short lifespan.
Bulk AAs from Radio Shack are cheap.

I am still working through a huge brick of AAs that I bought for a separate occasion. Batteries last longer in stasis if you keep them in the fridge - mine are in the deli meat / cheese bin.

I'm rocking the duracell rechargeables. They've done me right with my digital camera, so I figured why not. Since I originally got my charger, they came out with a "stronger" version of their rechargeables. Working good so far. I spent the extra money (at the time it was like $25 for 4 AA bateries and 30min charger) for the 30min charger, but now they got the 15min charger =(

I got the Nyco Dual charger. It is right next to the chair and always ready to go. Plus you get the advantage of the rubbery back for the controller.

Tenergy rechargeables. Bought them from all-battery.com, they have great deals on rechargeables. I got 24 2600mAh AAs for $36. 2600mAh keeps my 'motes going and going.

I got a single 'mote docking station from BigBen interactive (a european accessory manufacturer) about a month ago. The battery pack included lasts about 20+ hours of playtime and recharges in 2-3 hours that might sound much but when the Wii tells me the battery is about empty I still have about 2 hours (usually enough to finish a dungeon or so). When I want to keep gaming right away I just put in my backup standard batteries and recharge the pack once I'm done for the day (or rather night). It's USB powered so Wii in (connected) standby or any PC will do. The thing was 23 bucks including shipping from the electronics selling female warrior tribe.
I really wonder why a) they didn't sell the Wiimotes as rechargeable in the first place and b) to day there is no genuine Nintendo battery pack available.

Nyko Dual Charger. Got two of them...Couldn't stand the batteries anymore. Always dying. As long as I remember to put the thing on the charger, I always have a working Wiimote. I have no clue why its not USB powered, but whatever, it works. And it works well.

Dual dock here as well (not Nyko) - one thing I noticed is that the Wiimote with the rechargable battery pack is significantly lighter than regular batteries. Also, the cover is made of a different plastic that has more texture, giving you better grip.

Nyko for two, AAs for the other two. It actually came as part of my package deal (I bought my Wii used on eBay) but I'd have done the same if I'd bought a Wii new. It's not often I need more than two controllers at once.
The annoying thing, of course, is getting the remotes to charge with the wrist strap attached -- it takes some jiggling on the base to achieve the blessed blue light.

I also have the Nyko dual chargers. For a surprise, my wife bought me two of the spare batteries. So I have four batteries and battery covers, but only have one of the charge stations. Have two grey, one green and one blue cover. Unfortunately two of the covers are grey (the ones that came with the charger). Would have liked four different colors.

Large AA battery multipacks are quite chaep in Cardiff. I have a 16 pack and 2 AAs last me aroun 2-3 months. May only last me 1-2 months when all the good games come out in the UK.

#25 - Nope, actually #13 also said they did.
But anyway, I also use regular AAs. I've considered purchasing the ones pictured above but wasn't sure about their longevity. If I ever get enough time to get in some significant play time and start going through batteries quicker, I may reconsider.

I purchased a few sets of generic rechargables the day before I got my Wii, so I was ready to go. We use them for everything, so I just made sure I have extra sets in the charger so I can switch out camera/mouse/wavebird/wiimote/whatever when they get low. Don't really care how long they last because there's always a set ready to go.

Another vote for the Rayovac Hybrid here. Have a bunch of the Energizers in the picture but they can't hold a charge after a few months. The hybrids (nimh 2100) seem to last a lot longer than a new set of those energizers (nimh 2650) because they can hold the charge better when not in use. They seem to last weeks on the Wii remotes, even after playing 3 - 5 hours a day almost everyday!

I use Sanyo Eneloop batts. They retain their charge like a normal alkaline battery when not in use, so you don't get that 'energy leakage' you get with normal rechargebles. I got em at Frys. Works a treat!

The Wii book says not to use rechargeable batteries, so I've been really wary of it. I keep meaning to call Nintendo to see what they suggest, but I'm a professional crastinator (it's a way of life if you've got lots of time).
I'm worried that the controllers will overheat and pull a Sony...

yeah, pesonally i pre-ordered the Nyko charger that charges two remotes. Excellent buy, only complaint is that its hard to position the remotes correctly so that the charger works. It chargers super fast though.

Energizer rechargeables crapped out on me really quickly, but I do use a standard charger, not the energizer brand charger if that makes a difference. I've tried some of the cheap Kodak rechargeables, and they work fine so far, but are slightly oversized. Doesn't make a difference in the wiimote, but it's a pain to get them out of my mp3 player.
The best for me have been Rayovacs, hybrid or not, they are cheap, and last a long time with a good charge.

I use NiMH rechargeables. I used to use Energizers like those pictured, and a crappy Energizer charger. Now I have a much better (Maha) charger, and a bunch of different brands of batteries I'll use the Energizers if nothing else is charged, but they don't seem to hold a charge as well as others.

When I purchased mine from GameStop, the guy said they had a bunch returned because of poor quality. I've had some trouble with the wiimotes turning off during violent waggle.
I bent the pins on the battery pack a little bit for a better connection, and the problem's solved. They're excellent now!

Man. I was playin' MP3 last night at about 2 am. Right in the middle of fighting Ghor when my wiimote died. The other 3 were all dead too. One after the other wouldn't turn on. It was like a horror movie.
I ran to walmart and picked up an 8 pack of rechargeables and a 4 pack of generic alkalines to get me through.
