Sega continues to pour money into lavishly rendered trailers for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, and we must admit it's working a little. We, who have been less than impressed with Sonic and his games recently, found the dramatic music and quick editing of this new trailer to be effective at getting us to cheer for some ridiculous-looking video game characters as they compete with each other at Olympic sports.
Only now, after closing the window and safely removing ourselves from the video's thrall, do we remember that we were just looking at Yoshi playing ping-pong with Tails. We felt like Games Convention attendees for a second there, though!
If only Sega (and Nintendo, of course) would put this kind of effort into the real game.

Yeahhhh... no. Keep it clean out there. Or face mildly irritating consequences!

@ JC
That makes no sense, at least leave the comment for context...
This is one of the few games that i've ever been on the fence about. It's friggin Mario and Sonic (and all their auxiliary characters, no less), but i also don't need another Wii Sports (or do i?)

nvm, i see that samfish made that comment
i can totally use my imagination now.
And also, upon seeing the movie, i do think i've leaned a bit more towards buying this game. Even if it is just Wii Sports style, all those characters and all those events...

It's like a Mario/Wii Sports with Smash's principle of fan service.

So I see that Wario, Blaze, Espio and Shadow are in as well, interesting.
It's hard to make out, but I believe you can see Daisy standing next to Bowser at the very beginning. The hair, yellow skirt and figure seem to fit.
Really though, seeing Luigi and Shadow run side by side is really damn weird though.

The only thing that's bugging me about this game is that they have Eggman DOING things, with his physical capabilities
Eggman hasn't ever really done anything without his robot, he's not exactly known for any kind of physical acuity

I really hope that this game has both of the songs that belong with the Olympics (http://ask.yahoo.com/20060216.html for more info), especially the one by John Williams.
