1UP recently got a chance to go hands-on with the latest build of Soul Calibur Legends, and things are looking up after the title's E3 showing. Not only do they report improved framerate and textures, but they make the gameplay sound like something worth waiting for as well. The folks at 1UP got to try out one of our favorite characters, Taki, and though apparently her damage output is still being adjusted, her famous speed continues to be a strong asset. It's good to hear that each characters' individual style of play -- one of the things we've always enjoyed about the franchise -- has a real bearing on how you approach challenges, and the "team of two" aspect that allows you to keep two fighters in your party at all times for different situations really sounds like it could be a lot of fun. 1UP has gotten us excited about Soul Calibur again, and we can only hope that Legends lives up to the franchise name.

This game will still suck. Every time a game is panned in previews, magically 2 months later the game is "looking pretty good." Then it releases and "4.7: We knew this game sucked the WHOLE TIME!" is the review.

not necessarily. Metroid Prime 3 is an example of a game that evolved heavily before its release. What was seen originally was LITERALLY a modified MP2 engine with Wiimote support, not what we all just finished playing through
I have hopes for this game, not much, but hopes

Well I don't know if I agree or care that you have that opinion. I think this game has potential, the artwork -is- improving, and the gameplay has never been criticized as harshly as the graphics. I think it has a lot of fresh angles, in addition to which it looks like a lot fun to me and I want to wait this out before deciding what I think.

I don't feel like going through all the back posts for this game, but can anyone tell me if 2p co-op is planned for it?
If so, hell yeah.

I've showed interest in this game on and off. I hear mixed reviews any time I see anything about it. I'm hoping it turns out well, but at the same time, I'm not giving my hopes up. At least it looks really good (graphic-wise).

I have to agree with Mr. Kahn there. A little game by the name of Halo was shown at the E3 before the Xbox launched and although the impressions were good, many felt alot of work needed to be done for it to be ready in time for launch. We all know what happened afterwards. I'm not an Xbox fanboy by any stretch of the imagination (In fact, I think the game is seriously overrated), but Halo proves your theory wrong.

2 Matt; It does have 2 player co-op (I think splitscreen)
I completely lost interest in this title after that horrible Joystiq hand-on, I think they said something like "an abomination to the Wii and the franchise" LOL.
I'd like to see an update from that guy, if the new version of the game can win him over I'll put this on back on my radar.
