Analyzing NPD numbers, it's come to light that those who've purchased a Wii own an average of 2.2 Wiimotes. Personally, we were content with just two Wiimotes when we got our own system. What's weird, though, is that only around 21% of the Wiimotes sold come with Wii Play, while around 34% were purchased just as the base accessory.
How many Wiimotes do you own?

Or alternatively - if we haven't been securing our wrist straps maybe everyone has an average of 0.2 broken Wiimotes. Nintendo DS has sold a ton of units but what does that mean if there are many households like ours where the ratio of broken to working DS is 4:1 which can only help Nintendos sales figures!

Ah yes, I foolishly rushed to buy a third wiimote (ontop of the system and the one packaged w/ Wii play). It's been used very very little.
Someone asked about nunchuks? Three of those too, but one is STILL IN IT'S PACKAGE....! Just waiting for a "worthwhile" multiplayer game...Maybe that medal of honor heroes 2 (or whatever it's called)... Ideally Red Steel 2 will allow bots in multiplayer.
Ooops--Off topic; mind the tangent.

I have four Wii remotes and two nunchucks. The one that came with the system, and the others were bought by themselves so that we could play 4-player Wii Sports Tennis. I bought the extra nunchuck for 2-player Mario Strikers Charged

I got my 4 remotes right at launch (so no WiiPlay remote)
I had 2 nunchuks from launch (including the one with the Wii).
The other two were purchased a month or so later so I've had my full set of remotes/nunchuks since right after launch.

I have 5. I got 4 on launch day. Then one broke so I bought wiiplay in feb. when it came out. Then, in mid may it started working again.
(My cousins have 4 wiis spaced throughout their house with over 25 total wiimotes. (But interestingly only 7 nunchuks.)

Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found... four remotes! (And two nunchuks.)

I'd love to pick up the fourth remote somewhere down the line, but will wait to see if Nintendo (or a third-party manufacturer) can add a better built-in speaker.

I'm a little surprised at the Wiimote accessory/Wii Play ratio too... at only $15.00 more(Canadian price), Wii Play was the most attractive package to me.
I own 2 Wiimotes (& 2 nunchuks)

I'm sure these numbers are greatly skewed by the amount of people buying wiimotes to use as MIDI/OSC input devices in Max or other such programs. I know several people that have no interest in gaming but own four or more (mostly disassembled) controllers.

I own 4 'motes and 4 'chucks. It's a party console, why would you not have as many as possible?
Of course, they take quite a beating and already 2 of them are starting to fail. That's where Yentendo gets in your pocketbook and winds up costing more than a PS3. Plus: Classic Controller? WTF? Why can't I just use the 'mote and 'chuck and choose my button mapping at the console level?

Wow, am I the only person here that owns one *gasp, I know*? Everyone else I play the wii with has their own, and subsequently their own wiimotes. I've thought about buying a second one, but it seems like a waste of money with so many good games coming out this year. I'll get more eventually

I purchased an additional set and a classic controller. Much to my dismay, I bought Wink Waker and Time Splitters 2 used (I need something to hold me off after finally completing MP3C) at Gamestop last night and found that the classic controller was not compatible. That's kind of whack...anyone know what my best choices would be for getting some wavebirds?
I plan on buying two more wiimote/nunchuck sets once Brawl is released, btw...

I do want to get a WaveBird too
I've used all the WiiMotes before, but only 2 of the Nunchucks. I consider the other 2 spares, and maybe someday a cool game will come out where I can use all 4.
