Ubisoft's Tony Key cited a need for mature games in the Wii lineup-- a need insufficiently filled by their own Red Steel, right?-- as a major motivator for the decision to pick up No More Heroes. He also said that No More Heroes won't be cut to pieces for American audiences: "The game Ubisoft publishes in North America will have all of the content that its Japanese counterpart does. We wanted to make sure that gamers here would not miss out on any of the action or storyline details created by the talented development team in Japan."
Keep doing stuff like this and Jam Sessions, Ubisoft, and we're going to stop making fun of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

Metroid Prime 3 delivered.
No More Heroes looks like it CAN deliver, and kudos to Ubisoft for recognizing its importance.
If Red Steel 2 and Disaster: DOC deliver, Nintendo will have the muscle to compete with PS3 and X360 in ALL demographics. Wii is doing killer numbers, but I think the concern about burning out on only casual support is a concern. You need those rabid fans -- whether you're a game company, a rock band, or a political party. They fuel your message and influence others.
Those 4 titles will be KEY for their strategy, and going some way to matching the appeal of Metal Gear on PS3, and Halo 3 on X360. It keeps the Wii competitive as a true next generation system in peoples' perceptions.
