Finally, the NEOGEO makes a huge splash on the Virtual Console, offering up three different top notch titles to download. Wallets will be beaten to a pulp, their contents spilled all over the ground and quickly sucked up by Nintendo as each of these NEOGEO games will require a $9 entrance fee. And, with three different games available, that's a lot of scratch for some retro gaming goodness.
This week's games are:
- Fatal Fury (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)
- World Heroes (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)
- Art of Fighting (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)
As always, be sure to check back later for our video wrap-up of this week's offerings.

curious to try one of the neo geo titles, but this isn't really my genre. will wait for the video reviews and reader comments... which one of these is the most popular?

Can anyone who's played these games comment as to whether these are:
1. the original Neo Geo games (emulated?)
2. direct ports of the original games to the Wii?
3. a port from another home systems?
Patiently waiting for Samurai Showdown.

I am really not interested in paying that much for some old school fighting games. Don't get me wrong I loved Art of Fighting back in the day and I may download it just to support more VC games from other systems but 900 Wii points is a bit much for the game.
I guess since Neo Geo games were over priced way back when it is fitting to over price them now.

I dont understand Nintendo was doing a good thing with releasing games in the same series on the VC when a new game in that series came out like Metroid. I thought last week due to Phantom Hourglass we would get Majoras Mask. This week due to Barrel Blast I thoug we would get Donkey Kong Country 3. I guess they are only going to do this for big releases and dont get me wrong Phantom Hourglass was a big release but maybe its because it was DS and not Wii. Well all I have to say is I better get Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario RPG in November.

no online play no sale. they need to include online play for 2+ player games for the virtual console.

Finally! What was up with all of the delays?!?
@ real mii, if you don't like fighters, you probably won't care for any of these. Otherwise, I would recommend Art of Fighting, it has a more complex system than the other two.
@ Randy - a direct port of the original would mean that it is the original game emulated on the wii system. As it is on the Neo Geo console, it is not ported from any other system.
@ jeremy - Yup. there goes $18...

I agree with wiidude360. I'm not buying these old games I can play on any PC. You got your money 10 years ago, let's see something new. Just simply adding online play would make me buy tons of games. Otherwise I buy nothing...for those who don't like online play, you wouldn't have to use it. But I know I would...
