Of all the events in the Olympics, the Triple Jump seems like the one in which Mario would have the greatest advantage. After all, he's been practicing for it since Super Mario 64. Mario is a master of the triple jump. If Sega substitutes a normal triple jump for Mario's signature flip in the name of consistency, we will shake our heads in sad dismissal of this game. We may also roll our eyes and sigh.
This trailer, despite holding potential for Mario-related disappointment, also shows us how the controls work for the triple jump. And, as many Wii trailers show, what it would look like to play this game in a very nice fake apartment full of overenthusiastic actors.
Speaking of enthusiasm, we've embedded a certain obligatory Van Halen song in the post. Go ahead and (click on the) jump.

Actually, in an event like the Triple Jump, speed is a really important factor. I would expect Sonic to take the Long and Triple jumps, and Mario would take the High Jump.

Ugghh. Every time new videos/screens of this game are released, it makes it look worse. This game just looks horrible. I mean, you can't possibly have characters from the Mario and Sonic universes and expect it to be balanced without negating everything the games have otherwise shown. Plus, these commercials take the "Look, we're having fun on the Wii - together!" advertising way too far.

A+ for Donkey Kong singing Van Halen. One of the best times I've had pushing the play button on a YouTube video recently.

Upon watching the video...
This is one of those games that REALLY looks better in motion than in screens. Those screens had me thinking Sonic Heroes, those character models look... good

The graphics look really bad to me...none of the characters look "right." And doing that running motion so much would get really, really old...they should have waited for the Wii Fit pad or something. Or made use of a DDR pad...
