Following the revelation of Sonic appearing in the game and the trailer of him working his magic, today we get a breakdown on his arsenal of special moves. And, from the looks of it, he is either going to be our new favorite character, or most despised enemy. His special moves look like they may be cheaper than that of Fox's, if he's zipping around all quick like in a little ball, just running everyone over. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, be sure to hit up our gallery below for some images of Sonic performing his special moves.

Sonic looks like he is going to be awesome. On a side note, has anyone seen this alleged pre-order advert? http://ruliweb.empas.com/ruliboard/read.htm?main=nin&num=10309&table=game_nin02
It looks like it was posted on 08/17, which is quite sometime before Sonic was confirmed. If you look closely you can see Bowser Jr., Ness, Petey Piranha, Birdo, Rayman(!?), and some dude from Animal Crossing. This could be cool if actually real.

Holy sh!t your right...!!
It even quite possibly has the best character in the whole series listed on the front, Captain FALCON!!!!!!!!!!111111
For some reason I was doubting they would even put him in this next game..

It looks like he'll definitely have lots of speed and mobility. However, bear in mind that Smash Bros. has an excellent legacy of balancing a character's strengths with appropriate weaknesses. Sonic may end being a light-weight character that's fairly easy to knock off the screen -- if you can touch him. He may also be better at just racking up damage than actually putting the enemy away; think Sheik from Melee.

That Boxart in Reply #1 looks fake. Reasons:
1. The Wii whatever-you-call-it across the top is not the way it looks here in North America, yet there is an ESRB rating in the corner.
2. The fact that there's an ESRB Rating that isn't "RP", since, since there's no listing for Brawl on the ESRB website
3. The character art looks copy-pasted. Samus, in particular, looks like she was copy-pasted (I'm inclined to think from the Prime 2 box, not certain), since it looks different that her Brawl look, and that blue lighting.

I agree about the copy & paste job along with the ESRB thing, but why the hell would they put some odd choices on there like Petey and Birdo, and feature Sonic so prominetly? It was def posted on 08/17 so if it is a fake whoever made it seems to be making some pretty acurate guesses.
My heart wants to think it's real, especially since I want to kick ass with Petey, but my head thinks it might be fake. But who the hell knows.

It's obviously copy pasted. Sonic was taken off various promo shots where he's holding a Wii remote.

Not so. It is a different Sonic in the pictures that you're thinking of.

The images are different, albeit slightly.

Also, the Animal Crossing character is K. K. Slider, who is featured in the Animal Crossing stage performing. He probably won't be a playable character and part of the scenery at the same time.
I want to say how glad I am that they are using the older concepts of Sonic, rather than the newer ones. The ball and bouncing noises from his attacks hit me with a wave of nostalgia that the recent Sonic games can't touch. Now if only they'd get rid of his stupid electric guitar music and replace it with some of the melodies in the original games.

I never was a Sonic fan (never owned a Sega system), but he's looking pretty good for this game. I'm actually pretty excited for his appearance, especially because his character and fighting style fits in with the rest of the characters (unlike Snake). I also hope his inclusion may be indicative of other franchises being in as well (i.e. Mega Man, Rayman, or most of all, Simon Belmont). Either way, he looks like he'll be a pretty good character to play as.

That Samus is from Metroid Prime 3 artwork. I used that same image to make a wallpaper xD

I'm with you all the way on that one, Zack. Did you catch the sound effect when he shot off the spring? Pure classic.
Some people have said that Sonic still looks too "long-legged" in this showing; ie, too much like his newer self and not enough like his Genesis self. I think they've toned it down a bit, actually. He looks pretty evenly proportioned in the screenshots and video that have been releaseed so far.
I'm also totally with you on the music. Considering Snake got a level, I'm desparately hoping that Sonic gets a Genesis-era level with appropriate music. Green Hill Zone, Marble Zone... how awesome would that be?

Seems like they kept it simple
The real question is what his normal moves will be like, It's kinda hard to imagine punches and kicks (but its also not hard, recalling Sonic the Fighers and Fighters Megamix)

Green Hill Zone was EXACTLY what I was thinking. What a fun, twirling stage. And hearing the stage's song again while battling would bring some of the excitement back to the Sonic character.

If that boxart is real, that would suck.
I mean the character choices are horrible
(Petey Pirhana? Tom Nook? BIRDO?!! WTF??!!!)
Although some characters are awesome
(SNAKE, WARIO, AND SONIC FTW!!!!... also if Rayman is in the game, I think that would actually be pretty awesome)
