Remember the Home Run Derby from Smash Bros. Melee? Well, it's returning, but getting beefed up for Brawl. Not only will it feature simultaneous play for two players, but it will also allow for online play. Yup, two players can either alternate or go at it at the same time, which we imagine can be quite the ordeal. Trying to battle on that platform for the right to send that big bag of sand into the the atmosphere sounds like quite the bit of fun.
What do you guys think?

I think it's good that there's a force field around the platform now. Home Run Contest in Melee was overly frustrating because it was too easy to nudge the bag off the edge accidentally.

I agree with the above comment. I am liking the forcefield.
As someone who is now in college I am happy with the many online modes as I will be able to play some of my friends who are elsewhere.
I wonder if we will be able to do any of the other arena events online like Break the Target Test or Multi-man Melee...or even Adventure Play, since it is already offline co-op. I wouldn't doubt it.

I was thinking this was just going to be more "same old-same old" but that Forcefield is possibly the one thing they could've changed to perfect that mode
Online co-op will make for some good downtime for game nights, if we have any on this end of the Nintendo fanboy family

I really hope this isn't why they delayed the game for 2 months.

I hadn't thought much about the sandbag mode until now, but I'm glad that they decided to improve it with these new modes and the force field.
If they're putting this much polish on the smaller features I can't wait to see how the whole thing looks when it's done!
