The new Destroy All Humans! prequel, Big Willy Unleashed, seems to follow the same formula as the two previous games: humans get destroyed in hilarious and sadistic ways. However, the new game adds two twists to the formula.
First, alien anti-hero Crypto will have the use of a Big Boy-esque walking mech, the "Big Willy" mentioned in the juvenile title (and not Will Smith). Second, the game has been bloom-lit into infinity, creating the distinct appearance of a TV screen smeared with Vaseline. But who are we to complain about little things like overuse of "next gen" lighting effects, when there are humans who need a firm destroying?

I hate it when bloom is overused. Scarface, while a fun game, made me want to throw up at times. GTA:SA was also a big offender.
...but THIS looks TEN times worse.

It's odd, but bloom effect makes everything look like spiderman, and tony hawk for the N64 to me. Beautiful games both, but undeniably damaged.

So, I was playing this game on Friday at E for All (such a stupid name). Anyways, the graphics looked SOOOO BAD. I had hopes for this game, and I'm still hoping it will look better before being finished, but it looked pretty complete. Extremely jagged and the controls were God awful. Aiming was all over the place becaue the camera followed the reticule, which could normally be good, but not here. They have some major improvements to make before shipping, so don't get your hopes up.
Ironically, the gameplay wasn't really all that bloom-lit. Looked brighter than previous games, but not smooth and shiny.
