GamesRadar has posted a load of new Soul Calibur Legends screens, revealing the (probably) playable Lloyd much more clearly than those scans the other day. He's got a bunch of cool-looking moves, including ... some ... uh, thing with some, like, wings, and ... look, we didn't play Tales of Symphonia, okay? This is one particular bit of Namco cross-pollination that doesn't really affect us that much. As a new character, he looks pretty neat, but being generally clueless about the Tales RPGs, seeing Lloyd doesn't really set off any fanboyism for us. We're just lucky that he's a sword guy, and thus will probably be an interesting character even to non-Tales fans.
Although, now that we think about it, we wouldn't mind the 'wacky' approach-- bring in all the Namco characters you can fit on the disc, guys! We'd love to play through an action game as Mr. Driller, or Pac-Man, or one of the Galaga ships.

Ha ha I don't think that cartoony fake characters would help this game much. It would be like putting Soul Calibur characters in Namco Museum Remix... why would you want to gobble up little balls as a hot chick in tight leather pants? Ok, maybe that was a bad example...

Wow, didn't know troy was a perv. haha, jp.
Anyways, I am very disappointed in everyone at NintendoWiiFanboy.com. Seriously, how could you miss out on a classic such as ToS? That game was amazing from start to finish. (Okay, I never quite finished it because it is so long and I have such a short attention span.) Only character who would own more than Lloyd is Regal, but Regal doesn't use blades of any kind considering his wrists are bound, so this is the next best thing. I, for one, can say this is even better than discovering Link was in Soul Calibur 2.

Lloyd is the real deal! His inclusion definitely pushes me closer towards picking this game up. I'd love to use him to fight Cervantes.

First of all, boo to you for missing what was one of the best Gamecube titles produced. Second, while Lloyd is great and all, where is Genis and his amazing kendama? How do you win against someone who beats you mercilessly with Mexico's favorite toy for over 300 years, the ball in a cup?

I am stunned that you skipped Tales of Symphonia... Next thing you'll tell us that you skipped Baten Kaitos, Eternal Darkness, and Skies of Arcadia...

ToS was my favorite game for gamecube easily better than SoA which i also loved. It's a shame that you haven't played it yet.

This is still a game that could go either way. Those action sequences flow like the fighting game, but the adventure sequences look insanely generic
Although you can't complain about the cast

Tales of Symphonia was hardly a classic. ToS was an amalgamation of every JRPG cliche in existence.
Second, the inclusion of Lloyd isn't going to stop this game from being a crappy-looking spin-off to an otherwise great fighting game.

You never played TOS? I'm actually surprised they included his wings because that's something you only see at the end of the game.
/// MASSIVE SPOILERS ///
Lloyd had something called an exsphere on the back of his hand. During the game you learn that exspheres eventually evolve into Cruxis Crystals, what makes people angels (with wings). Usually it takes thousands of years for an exsphere to evolve but Lloyd goes through so much that it evolves right when he needs it.
