In honor of Halloween later this month, we thought we would take some time to ask about your fears. Oh, not in general (though if you're also planning for the eventual zombie apocalypse, we'll talk strategy and escape routes later), but rather, your fears and worries about upcoming Wii games. There's always some little worry about possible disappointments, even with dependable franchises and developers, and more when the concepts are untried or untested. So tell us what worries you this morning, and let's try to assuage each others' fears. And hey, it's okay if it's just little things, like maybe you're worried about Super Mario Galaxy because you didn't think Super Mario Sunshine was all that, or you're afraid everyone will suddenly start using the Zapper, but you hate it. You're among friends here (mostly). We'll try not to judge.

First off, I LOVED the Zombie Survival Guide. One of my favorite books ever. So, my fear is definately not zombies. They're cake. My fear would probably be something like bees. Hot bees. Or angry dogs that when they bark they spit bees at you. Now THAT'S scary!

I fear that every software, that I want would not come to Germany. RE:UC, Godfather, Cooking Mama, Manhunt 2 and more aren't coming to Germany and many other games take years for there way to my country.

I'm a acroclostrophobe. I'm afraid of falling from a high place into a very small one. Or being dumped out of a coffin from an airplane. Either order is pretty freaky.

I'm gonna say the oft-stated but still valid possibility that I fear that even with the solid number of hardcore games coming out in the next few months, developers still won't wise-up and start making more hardcore games for the Wii. Just because I won a Wii from Nintendo and didn't pay for it doesn't mean that I'm indifferent about the hardcore Wii drought going on right now.

Well Dee-You-Eichi. It’s a well known fact that every Wii owners worst fear is that his/her Wii console, filled with virtual goodness, breaks down.
that and double posting on Nintendowiifanboy.com

Best zombie song ever. You'll start singing the chorus in the shower. Trust me.

I fear that the Pro evo 2008 controls for wii wont be accurate enough and will detract from the lightning fast pin point precision gameplay, the controls for ps2 have been absolutley spot in all of the series, and i dont think the wii will be able to deliver such accuracy, but at the same time the gameplay videos we have already seen look fantastic and it seems konami have some brilliant ideas...... guess ill just have to get ps2 and wii version?

World War Z also by Max Brooks is one of the greatest books I have ever read! Also the Walking Dead graphic novels. My strategy for the Zombie apocalypse is to head into the woods in isolation. I have a small cabin, a 5 year supply of canned goods, and a shotgun so I will be OK. Remember head shots only!
If you hunker down in something that is too safe and too big a target other humans may try and kill you so that they can use your high security prison as their home.
Also my biggest fear for the wii (now that I am a proud new owner!) is that I will never get a cool multiplayer online experience in a game such as call of duty.

First of all, I own the real life versions of both waepons featured on the cover of that book. Second, I am glad for that because I am currently reading World War Z (a must read!). Third, I hope upon hope that Medal of Honor: Heros 2 does not suck. I want a good WWII game and I want good online action.

I fear that the big N will never quite get a handle on online play, and will lose business as more and more people look towards Microsoft and Sony for their online needs.

Hey, I have that book!
A friend of mine has it too and treats it like the bible. He's always talking about various tips he learned from it, like not carrying loose change since the jingling noise made while walking could give away your position to an otherwise aloof zombie horde.

I agree with Shadow31. I'm hoping Brawl isn't a letdown although I doubt it could be. I'm also worried Galaxy is going to be too easy. Sunshine didn't take me that long to beat and even if this is cooked fancier I'd like it to be a bit more filling as well.

I'm afraid Western developers will ignore hardcore development for the Wii (although those fears have been wholly allayed about the Japanese devs)
Fear about Online Play isn't a fear, since Nintendo won't change it at all at least until their next consoles, if then
Otherwise, i'm happy. Although i'm scared of the Spirit Temple Curse: Where every time i play through the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time (not Master Quest though) something bad happens. Like the first time where I was caught doing something "bad" the same day and grounded for a long time, the second time when the power went out, the third time when it froze and i hadn't saved in a long time, the fourth time when the LikeLike took my Goron Tunic and i didn't have the wallet size to get it back, and the fifth time when i contracted a 72-hour virus

First, I love it when you guys post things that I like. It brightens up my day to do my daily viewing of Nintendo Wii Fanboy and see the Zombie Survival Guide, especially because I spent much of my day trying to find a store that has any in stock so that I could get another copy.
Next, I'm scared about Nintendo (among other developers) taking the Wii control ideas too far. I'm scared about Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, which looks to be eye-gougingly fun. I'm scared that Nintendo will think any action will translate well to motion controls and we will be stuck with tons of games where we need to wave our arms around like idiots to get our characters to run. Good thing that's all just a bad dream (or is it?!)

Everything I need to know about surviving zombie attacks I learned from the Resident Evils.
Anyhow, I share fears with some of the above (Brawl not delivering and Galaxy being too easy) but my biggest fear is that around this time next year Nintendo will be pushing out the Wii 2.0 (or whatever they call it). Instead of doling out HDD's and online multiplayer support all piece-meal they'll just launch a new, bigger and better Wii after this generation has proven the solvency of the concept. The fact that big-name developers aren't exactly flooding the "future market" with blockbuster-worthy titles doesn't help alleviate my fears. Beyond this holiday season and then Mario Kart (now with motorbikes!), what else is there?
Yes, No More Heroes looks awesome...But what about after that?
I worry that the Wii's current lack in graphical and storage capabilities will force a new console release in the not-too-distant future...
Before that happens maybe someone could talk Ubisoft into making a Wii-only sequel to XIII (XIIII?) with wii-mote controls and online multiplayer? Just don't remove the bots for offline! Whaddya say Ubisoft? Anyone?
Ahh...A guy can hope.

Nervous about Galaxy being underwhelming. Afraid that we're going to hear another Smash Bros. delay (and that there won't be a headset option...). Scared that MoH:H2 will fall short in online gameplay.
The world may never know...
Wait no, we will know over the next couple of months...that was the tootsie pop thing. Oops?

I'd say my biggest fear is that devs will be content taking the easy path with the wii and will continue on their mini-games/shovel-ware strategy. Games like MP:3, (ironically) RE:4 and even Elebits showed what the system can do, and it can do it well. Even graphics can look sweet, yet we continue to see cheap, "casual" games flooding the market. I hope that the PS2 ports, MH:3 and the foundation that Retro laid will get us more quality titles to balance out the current crap.

Dare I say it? I fear that Brawl will not live up to it's hype... NO, I MUST NOT SAY THAT!!! Brawl HAS to be amazing!!! I just hope they have plenty of unlockables and don't tell us what they are... that's the very least I ask for...
