Though some would argue that €30 (approximately $43, thanks to the devalued US dollar) isn't much to ask for Nintendo's official Wii Zapper and Link's Crossbow Training, when the same bundle will be selling for less than half that in North America, Nintendo of Europe's price point starts to sound like a rip-off.
But that's how much Europeans can expect to pay if they hope to pick up the Wii Zapper set. According to NintendojoFR, the overpriced accessory ships out this December 8th, just in time to rob you before the holiday season. For those of you in the US and planning to pick it up for $20 this November 19th, would you spend $43 on the bundle?

I'm not even sure if I'll be getting a first pair, considering costs of Wii stuff in Mexico is about 20% more than in USA, we'll probably be paying around 400 MXN for the same thing, which is around 38 USD.

I'm from the old world and the reason that its 30 Euros is that 29.99 simply sounds great as a retail price when bundled with a game for christmas. You get it for 19.99$ in Whatever-Mart I would guess. I for one will definitely NOT buy this thing. Not only do I think the Zapper is a quite useless peripheral (they freed me from clutching a 6 inch pad and now I have to hug a 15 inch riflette?) but the only reason I am a little excited is because of the Zelda shooting range thingie (love Zelda, love shooters > yay) and as we all know these will pop up all over eBay within minutes.

Wouldn't the EU price be after tax? What's standard, 17.5%? So the product is actually 35$.
A quick look at French Amazon shows new first party games going for 49Euros (70$), and some EA titles going for 59 ($84), oddly enough. Minus the tax, that's $60ish and $75ish respectively. Our zapper bundle is 40% of our standard game price ($50). Theirs is somewhere between 46% and 58% of their standard.
It's not great, but realistically what's there is a sub-20% hike, not a 100% hike.

As long as you buy it, the price will stay high. The sellers are always going to adapt to the buyer's demand. So if you really don't like the price, then boycott it, or find a way to import consoles and games/peripherals from a different region.
