You'll be able to acquire VHS cassettes featuring music videos in No More Heroes, for viewing back at Travis's nerdtacular home (on an apparently tiny TV, judging from our hero's posture.) The first such video to be revealed is Genki Rockets' "Heavenly Star," which is appropriately nerdy for inclusion in the otaku-fronted game.
How nerdy is "Heavenly Star?" Well, the song's not about Doctor Who or anything, but it is performed by a group of fictional musicians who are from the future. Like the Gorillaz, the Genki Rockets manifest as holograms in live performances. And this (gorgeous) video was produced by Q? Entertainment's Tetsuya Mizuguchi for inclusion in Lumines II. Of course, you don't need to wait for No More Heroes or go buy Lumines II to see the video; we've embedded it after the break.

Another unique little feature. My only concern is if these videos will be cut when No More Heroes is localized.

Meh, Ubisoft said they wouldn't touch it, and i'll trust them until they decide to screw us over
But on an immediate concern, Magician Lord won't appear on the screen, i get sound but no picture, and i tried the "fix" to set it to interlace, which resulted in a big fat nothing
very frustrated, as i'm out $9 for something i can't use...

feh, problem solved. I had to push 2+Z+A, not 1, now it runs fine
A good, challenging (although compelling for replay) game

Everytime I see a video that has the hand-drawn illustrated look to it, I think back to Ah-ha's Take On Me, and it is good, who knew blurring the line between reality and animation would still be a relevant artistic choice 20 years after the fact. Well played 80s, well played.

I agree with Carlos. JC Fletcher: this game and that song are two totally different subjects. I'm much more interested in the Rez, E3 & E4, and Gunpey soundtracks than Heavenly Star. There is a much darker element to those tracks. The Killer 7 soundtrack is dark as well. So really, it's the Heavenly Star track that doesn't fit in with any of this. I could maybe see it in Barbie Horse Adventures, or That Bratz Movie the game. I love Tetsuya Mizuguchi, but that song is way too happy.

Wow, that is a pretty nice video.
And maybe it's just me, but is that an N64 on the shelf in the background of the picture?
