I've played about an hour of Galaxy, including all footage from the 4th vid here. (also most of the honey bee galaxy) and with all you've seen so far, it is an amazing experience!

The hype is, basically, due to the extremely nice-looking footage we've got for months, also, it's the every Nintendo fan's dream that this game will be superior to Sunshine, and will put Mario once again, in the top place.
