We have never had a fear of clowns before, but we think this NiGHTS video just gave us one. For such a cutesy, kid-friendly game, boss Donbalo's face is just off-putting. It's like staring into the candy-colored, laughing face of death.
Thankfully, there are four other videos, all of which are much less nightmare-inducing, with which you can cleanse your palate. Those are all posted after the break. With the exception of horrifying clown monsters with dead, evil eyes, these videos depict a gorgeous game. We're hoping that this is how the game will look, for real. It seems like our impressions of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams alternate between awesome and 'meh.' These videos look like top-quality stuff, graphically and in terms of gameplay, so we're hoping we don't see crappy screens tomorrow or something. Right now, this looks like a beautiful, next-gen sequel to NiGHTS. That is all we want.

My gf really is afraid of clown so this is a bad thing in terms of how excited she will be about this game. She was sad to hear it because the AI Garden thing struck her as cool. But its just one boss. It should still be cool!

Good to see Sonic Team adhere to the excellent visual standards that they set with Secret Rings, and the gameplay looks solid even if, as sketch said, Donbalo looks ridiculously easy, Girania looks tough enough
This game is going to make my christmas, even if i'll be playing Radiant Dawn at the same time (the two are practically the opposite gameplay wise)

Everything is just so unpolished, such as when the girl climbes up to nights and then just disappears.

So is NiGHTS in general basically the race sections of spyro but with bosses?

Remember, NiGHTS Into Dreams came out on Sega Saturn and this is the follow up.
It may look easy, but it's tough to score high until you've found some of the alternate paths and mastered the controls. The original NiGHTS is one of my all-time faves...

For starters people, let me remind you that it's not actually Sonic Team developing this game, it's the American development studio SEGA Studios USA. Who made such WONDERFUL (read: terrible) games such as Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic and the Secret Rings. So I will hold off any notion of "awesome" for this game until I actually play it.
Second, every SEGA game does this. They advertise it to be the best damn game ever, but when push comes to shove, the actual game blows big time. SEGA have awesome marketing stratergies, however just can't deliver to what their PR gives out for it to be.
