Even if Namco Bandai hadn't recently assured us that Soul Calibur Legends was ready, we could have guessed it from these latest screens. Listen, we'll be straight with you here: for a few of us banging around the Wii Fanboy offices, this blogger included, Soul Calibur is serious business. Watching the less-than-great early screens and the horrified impressions that rolled in near the beginning was tough. There was much weeping and a lot of very cliché gnashing of teeth. But things have settled down. We have hope again. Hope that we may return to the stage of history, clear-eyed and hopeful that the action-take on one of our favorite franchises will work out just fine.
Check out the latest screens and let us know if you feel the same way.

The art direction on the character models is pretty amazing. But those eyes just creep me out... I think that's what they intended, though, so it's fine.

Ironically for the Wii, I don't think graphics are going to save this one... I can't imagine the gameplay is going to be anything more than repetitive waggling.

As opposed to the very varied button mashing that a similar game on another system would have? Ummm....
