You know, maybe we shouldn't make light of an incident where someone accused a national hero of faking one of the United States' most historic events, but we can't help it. If we remember Buzz Aldrin for one thing, it's punching someone in the face. Oh, and his moon landing thing.
Anyway, the above video comes from the meeting between Buzz and Mario we talked about a few days ago. So, if you, like us, were left kind of confused about the whole thing, then check out the video above.

Buzz Aldrin doesn't make me want to buy SMG. Thankfully, he doesn't make me *not* want to buy it. I'll see you at TRU next Tuesday.

Ugh, Buzz does the same stuoid thing that flags a non-gamer from a mile away: Maario? The a is single-length, SINGLE-LENGTH!

Stuoid should be stupid. How do I edit posts, or can we do that?

Ok now This makes more sense. This seems like quite an expensive PR stunt. But pretty cool!

Buzz is a legend in my book. And this PR stunt makes crystal clear sense to me... why not have a famous astronaut promote and endorse a game that takes place in space? Nintendo is clearly going for an educational slant, as we saw in the Japanese clip earlier:
http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/11/01/smg-science-trailer-leaves-us-baffled/
If the mainstream media and news networks run with this and somehow correlate SMG with kids getting interested in space/science, especially in a era when the thrill of space exploration has cooled (relatively speaking), Nintendo will garner a lot of free positive publicity. What genius...
